An Increase in earnings would be good

I am sure this topic must have been discussed before but I still feel I should start this discussion. To begin with I must state that this post is merely for the members to express what in their view would be fair earnings. My only request would be to be realistic. Any form of advise would be nice. The intention is not to question or challenge the site.

A definition of 'fair' earnings may be expressed as two formulae as follows.
There are two separate criteria for 'fairness':
1) Fairness to the owners of and investors in the site A site can only exist and be viable if the owners and investors see a reasonable return for their investment and this should always be the first concern. Members can only be paid (if that is one of the aims of the site) after the necessary expenses of running the site, employees' salaries and a percentage of the profits, broadly in line with what investors might be expected to earn elsewhere by investing their money, have been paid.
Amount available to pay members = Total revenue of site - Cost of maintaining site - reasonable return on owners/investors investment.
2) The way in which the amount available to pay members is allocated is the second criterion. There are a number of different ways of calculating this but the only realistic way is to allocate payments in some proportion which is relevant to the value that the members return to the site by their activity. Clearly, a site such as MyLot relies on its members to produce readable and unique content which will help to draw traffic from search engines, so a 'fair' method of rewarding the members would be by some method of deciding what content is 'valuable' and what is not.
It would be possible to debate endlessly exactly how content might be rated as 'valuable', of course. Some solutions would inevitably be better and more accurate than others and many of the best solutions would undoubtedly be impractical or uneconomic. Currently, MyLot's way of assigning a 'value rating' to content is by letting the members themselves decide what content is worthwhile by paying more to those members whose discussions, responses and comments receive more interaction from other members.

@zap_81 my apologies if you thought I was being a little rude. No I was not suggesting you were criticizing at all, I am merely saying its very fair here on this site nd that earnings are all dependent on our posts and the rebuttal we get and give.

I like to think I don't have expectations since it is a delightful little fairy that puts money into my paypal account but if I did expect something for all my effort it would never be enough? What I also mean here by looking at it from the opposite side of the coin is I just want to active without demands or expectations from others and will take what I get without feeling like I owe someone something which would be the case if someone's demands told me my writing was not up to their standard. Therefore, I don't demand payment. If for some reason I were to leave it would be because I wasn't happy. Did I take this discussion in another direction or did I answer your question? - good discussion by the way

@Bluedoll You achieved multiple goals with one response. ha ha. well let me interpret your message and correct me (which I know you will) if I go wrong. Firstly you have analysed the post and question the intent . At some level you are right. but in my humble view you are right from your point of view and there are others who are interested in the reward which they will earn and which in their view is less. Secondly I understand they are not bound to be on this site but then they can have a view . It is this view that I am calling for. Hope I have answered you. Honestly after I long time I enjoyed responding to a question. Thanks. Good question :)

The algorithm is pretty simple (and fully explained, if you care to read it, in the Earnings Program FAQs).
The more that OTHER PEOPLE interact with what you post - be it a discussion, a response or a comment - the more that post will earn. If NOBODY interacts with you, then you will earn nothing! It follows that you should be careful that what you say is worthy of interaction ... the rest is down to how much you interact with others.

my observation recently is that, when i commented on 20+ discussions, i received 30 cents.

no need to complain! I just recently been active again I thought myLot has gone kaput! I don't remember when I join but looking at my discussion history my oldest response is 12 Jun 2007 and I also lost my earnings due to site changes. Now, I'm just happy they are paying again. If Facebook and Twitter pay people for their post I would be a millionaire by now.

Who would not like to make more money. However, on this type of site I think they are being fair with us. I would not like to see them raise the pay rate so much that they could not pay us, like some of the other sites did. I like myLot just as it is.

I don't understand the whole algorithm and how it works behind the scenes. But I do know that a valuable post or comment earns the receiver of that comment more than a simple "good morning"

@zap_81 Referral earning was in old myLot. Although it is something the owners of the site is contemplating on.
