Kids may have been into gadgets, but some remained to balance the fun without and with technology. While answering with @magallon 's reply ony discussion, my 9 year-old nephew was reading my reply, topic was that of."bugnay" (a local cherry, sort of). This nephew.of mine suddenly shared.me about their life after school and of bugnay. Bugnay is still common in my another hometown(Cagayan), that he and his brother will climbed the tree and pick the fruits of bugnay and guava too(wild ones). Glad that they are still into this kind of "fun" like what we used to do.

i think that kids nowadays can be the kind of kids we had back then, if only we introduce it to them. they wont know about tablets and phones if we didnt let them start using it.

Kids these days are totally not like what we were. They don't climb trees, they don't make their own toys and they don't buy as much candies in sarisari stores as we did way back in the 90's.

How fortunate of them. It's the difference between children living in the province and the city. My son doesn't even know what a bugnay is.

Hmmm good they still have experienced that. Hmmm We also have bugnay in my hometown but not that common anymore. There is a bugnay tree where we are passing by when we go home. But they had trimmed it already so I am not sure if I will see its fruits this year.

@Lucky15 I live in a city. Although my grandparents have background and a home in a village, I have never climbed a tree. My father and all his siblings have.

same as before.. the way we behave before is also the same with their behavior now. as if it is being passed on to the next generation.

@Lucky15 .. that's the difference from us before and them now. during our time, letters are used for communication or a home phone , if you want to communicate with your friends, you have to write them a letter or you have to go home and call them up. today, talking with friends is so easy. it could be anytime and anywhere. and without delay.

Oh bugnay yeah I know that! They kinda look like blue berries. I used to eat them when I was a kid. I've totally forgotten the taste but as far as I could remember I liked it.
