Airports at Midnight

Last night my husband and I drove to Orlando airport to pickup my son and his girlfriend that will be staying with us for a few days. This is my Mother's Day present from them. They flew in from Newark, New Jersey.
We never went to the airport so late and it was great, other than getting home so late. There was no traffic on the roads nor the airport and we got a great parking space near the door. Usually when they come in earlier, we end up parking like a mile away.
We both love to people watch and being it was so late, there wasn't a lot of flights. We take them back on Sunday for a noon flight and I know we will see a lot of people then.
It was so great to see them as the last time we saw them was when we all went on a cruise the beginning of February.

@slund2041 No we didn't dance. Usually we do but it was outside and hot and I didn't want to get uncomfortable.

@slund2041 Thank you and we all had a great time and went out to eat constantly. We also found a restaurant that has a great band and people were dancing. My husband and I plan on going there again. Sadly, my son went home today.

I fly in and out of the Orlando airport 3-4 times a year, and it is one of my favorite airports. I never have any issues with traffic, parking, checking in, baggage, etc. I do usually try to book the earliest flight of the day (less crowded, and less chance of being delayed if you're the first flight out for the day!). This coming Friday I will be taking an evening flight from Orlando to New York to spend Memorial Day weekend in the Big Apple. This will be my first time flying out of Orlando on a holiday weekend, so we'll see how it goes with the crowds and delays!

@ramapo17 That must have been so much fun to get to be part of a tv show! I've always wanted to see a live episode of Saturday Night Live, but I've never been able to get tickets. But I did get to tour NBC studios and the SNL set once! I thought that was pretty cool!

@moffittjc It was fun but I get tongue tied when I get near famous people. You should have seen me when I was right in front of Phil Simms. He is my all time favorite football player and I couldn't even talk to him.

@moffittjc That sounds like a great weekend Jeff. I use to live less than an hour away for part of my life and 1/2 hour the first 15 years. New York is a great place and so much to do. The last time I was there was to go to the Dr Oz show as my daughter was one of the guests that was on stage and had to talk to him. Lots of pictures of me in the audience. What a star!!!!

It must be a really great time for you and your family. I live picking up someone in the airport. I love it more than being with them when they need to leave already. I remember I was very happy to pick up my boyfriend in the airport but will always feel like crying whenever he needs to go.

my flight to Toronto, via Hamburg in 2003 was in the early hours of the morning so I had to get to the airport in Manchester before midnight - it was still quite hectic
