This proverb is very old but it is still apt almost everywhere.I was just planning to throw away my old mobile phone but suddenly it came as a savoir to my banking password which I forgot.Many a times old things appear us like a boon and prove their worth.We just can't throw them out just because they are old.

Old is surely gold but that doesnt mean I will bring on the scraps from the store room feel myself as a millionaire.

i trhrow old staff a lot,sometimes i have problems like yours but i manege them in different ways
