MyLot settles on $5.00 payout minimum!

I just came across a post from MyLot Administraton saying that they'd settled on a $5.00 per month payout minimum. The comments suggested that they'll be sticking with this minimum for the foreseeable future. I think this is a perfect compromise. The $1.00 was kind of "unmotivating," thought it didn't really matter to most of us. And the $10 minimum was hard to reach for those who don't have "down time" at the beginning or end of each day. I applaud Administration for taking feedback from members into consideration. It seemed that the consensus was that $5.00 would be the perfect compromise. What are your thoughts? I'll provide a link to the original post below:
After a period of of trial and error, a new pay out minimum has been decided on. We have settled on the figure of $5.00. This will be effective for the upcoming...

I like the $5! That is a great compromise. That means I am good for the month.

I've passed the $5.00 mark, but I expect to pass the $10 mark, to be honest. I always find time to visit, even if I'm busy.

@TheHorse Same here. I am about $1 shy from $10. Whatever I do, I have always managed to reach the $10 limit as well.

@infatuatedbby It hasn't been an issue for me either (so far). But I'd like to see all semi-active writers be happy.

I'm really happy about this. I agree its a perfect compromise - right in the middle, and will make it easier for a lot of people to cash out monthly.

@TheHorse I think its the weather. Its getting nice, people are getting outside instead of being on the computer.

@Lolaze That makes sense. But I always seem to check in here at the end of the day, no matter what else is happening.

And yet it will provide a bit of motivation not to be "lazy." Things have seemed a bit quiet lately, though I don't think the lower payout is responsible.

That is a good amount and will make a lot of people that are not on here that often happy.

I haven't seen a negative comment yet, on this post or the original one.

That is a wonderful compromise. That means that even people who only earn $2.50 in a month will still reach payout every other month. People who do more, should be able to reach payout every month. I think the Administration made a wise decision. It also means that they listen to their members and try to make things work out for everyone. Even more than the financial decision, I'm happy to know that they try to work with their members.

That IS very exciting. Gives this site a different feel than "the site that will not be named."

@vandana7 - I earn about $3.50 a month here ... but at least I know I will reach payout every other month!

I saw that earlier today. For me it doesn't matter. At the moment I'm holding at a dollar a day.

I think many of us did. When this discussion first started, a couple of months ago, a lot of people were calling for $5.00. I'm glad Administration was listening. Did you ever participate at Bubblews? That was quite a different story.

@TheHorse oh yes, i was one of the original members of that site. i joined in november 12, 2012, while that site started in the early months of the same year. i stayed in that site even though it went several changes, from $25 to $50 then when many left the site due to its latest issues. i lost more than $300 with all pending redemptions and the last, i had $15 to complete $50, then its demise.

@TheHorse As far as I am concerned I would not even worry if it went to $25. As you say, we would still receive the payment eventually.

$5 seemed to be the consensus among commenters when they went from $10 to $1. I hope none of the "casual" users are not discouraged by the change to $5. We all get paid eventually anyway.

JJ suggested this post to me so when I woke up this morning, it was the first thing that I read. It's just as I expected. I think the admin were reading people's mind and thought $5 is reasonable enough. People would be happy about this news and there are those who thought it's still at $1.

@TheHorse I was actually thinking they would revert back to how it was then at $10.

it is a good reachable target for most without deterring the less prolific - i'm on course for $10 this month now but every cent counts for everyone

I think they used to have a minimum of five dollars before I think. I hope this will encourage new people and old ones to be active everyday.

I've only been here for a few months so I don't know. I didn't mind the $10 minimum but think $5 is perfect.

I like the $5 minimum. Do you know if they pay it out automatically or can it accumulate and be paid out as we ask for it?

Honestly, it doesn't matter to me either way, personally. I've only been here for two payouts, and had no problem either time. I do understand it, though. At least it's not $50.00.

Even $50 wouldn't bother me (though its more fun to get a payment every month--it just feels good to see that email). The "site that will not be named" used the $50 minimum as a way to secure free writing from devoted suckers...I mean members...but this site would not do that

I really like this, I think it makes perfect sense. 5 isn't as easy to achieve where as a dollar is. but it isn't impossible. I like it!

This is awesome! I spend a lot of time on forums, so I don't think meeting the five dollar mark will be an issue for me. That seems like a nice in-between for people to meet. I'd imagine that the ten dollar minimum was a bit hard to make every time.
