Making Progress

I started on the laundry room yesterday and with everything I did in there today, I think I'll have it completely finished in a couple more days. Yes, it will take that long. You know I've told you I'm not the best housekeeper. Lots of dust, lint, and evidence of mouse occupation. One question I do have as I was cleaning shelves and deciding what to throw and what to keep, as I also use the laundry room as my pantry, is how would a mouse open a can of green beans without making a hole in it? I found a completely empty can of beans on the top shelf of a shelving unit I first bought when I moved in. I looked that can over and there was no evidence of any hole or any way a mouse could have gotten at the contents of the can. Kinda eerie. Anyway, I've swept around and behind the dryer and got all the lint and dust out, before I started sneezing non-stop and had to change out of the clothes I was wearing. I even had dust and lint up my nose. I won't be going back in there anymore tonight. But I will tomorrow and hopefully I can finish sweeping it out. I did find a lot of dog food in strange places - tucked in my sheets. So I'm sorting through my linens on what goes with and what doesn't. I think I'm only going to take three sets of sheets. I have several more sets, but I don't need them, some were to my waterbed, which I no longer have and haven't had for a long time. I still have the pantry shelves to go through and sort through for what I'm keeping and saving. All the food on those shelves is a definite keep. It's the other shelves I don't use anymore for food where I found a lot of mouse activity, and most of that went into the garbage. Not a lot of food there anyway, just odds and ends and spices. I'll definitely have it more organized in a couple days. I'll also get the floor washed in there, and then again before I move out when the washer and dryer are out of there. I also worked on Scarred and got three more chapters edited. Seven more to go before I send that off to my friend. I've got time. I haven't gotten his suggestions back yet for what I sent him. So that's what I've been doing today, besides taking time out to watch two more episodes of Lost. Now I'm here, and ready to interact again. I did clear out the notifications earlier today, and I intend to do it again before I go to bed, and this time I won't forget what day it is when I go to bed as I thought I forgot to take my medication for Friday and took it at Midnight, thinking it was Saturday, and realized when I got up this morning I took it way too early, but I'm sure it was fine. I'll just wait until I get up to take it for Saturday. How was your day? Anything exciting? Thanks for reading.

@ridingbet, Valerie is a hardworking lady. I noticed she is always busy and that is a very good exercise.

You have a long day ahead. There's plenty to do and we really need a handy man to fix the washing machines knob. I think someone pulled on the knob too hard. I hope you're able to get plenty of rest after all of those chores.

The empty can is strange, I would imagine that maybe you bought it that way, but even that is a strange thought. You're doing well tackling your work like this. I had a hard day on Friday, I've always worked part time but had to ask for more hours at work because my husband lost his job this week. Tough times.

@just4him Thank you, we can really use your prayers right now. He's always been the strong one here, but to see him stripped of his confidence and so low is hard, but I'm supporting him the very best that I can. I just pray that he finds something else soon, we cannot make it on my 24 hours per week.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope he will be able to find another. Now I have two people to pray for where jobs are concerned. I showed the can to my son this morning and he said the beans were still in there, just all the liquid is gone. Still strange how that happened.

When we decided to put out house up for sale we started a year ahead of time. We got rid of everything in the basement first and than painted the basement. It takes awhile for a house to be cleaned out.

Yes it does. This isn't my first move. I've moved over 20 times, which is why I was really looking forward to being settled. Now I'm just looking forward to moving out of here and getting a nice apartment.

It is, but all for a good cause. I'll be moving in a couple months. Just waiting for everything to get taken care of now between the loan company and housing.

Sounds like a big job cleaning out your laundry room but it will be worth it once it's all done.

Yes it will. I should also be able to get as much as possible boxed up as well, not the food of course until we get ready to move.

I hate having to go through old stuff and throw things out or re-store things .. which happens every time I have moved. It is a daunting task. Good luck with it!

Quiet as I am tired from my late night last night except for being on the pone talking with friends about what we learned last night and doing a few surprised surveys for a Saturday

I don't find the can thing eerie. Mouse has teeth and hands. It can easily open it. They can even uncover a covered dish. So yeah it's not strange. My day started with this awesome admin announcement and then that SPAM right beside it.

So an unopened can, no holes in it isn't eerie to you? I showed it to my son this morning when he got home from work and found that it still had the beans in it, just no liquid.

How odd to find an empty can. It sounds like a himan did that. Also the dog food. Did you have someone a bit odd to stay st some point?
