Welcome to this weekend’s Suddendeath poetry challenge, Foggy Moon! Anyways, rules are as follows, write a poem in any style using the five words that I give you. Write it in one sitting or in under an hour (only to quash your inner editor, rules are loose there). Add it here, OR link in a comment so we can enjoy each other’s poems. The words can be in any plurality or tense. Today’s words are moon, fog, quiet, glow, night.
My entry is below: -------------------------------------------------------
When I drive to work it’s in the dark,
a world normally lit by headlights stark.
But this morning the moon met me there,
And lit up the night world most beautifully fair.
Yet far my eyes could not see around,
For thick quiet fog covered most of the ground.
Moon glow on fog is a wonderful sight,
Even if driving in it gave me the most chilling of frights.

I tried to be quiet,
I tried to blend into the night.
Yet I gave the neighbors a fright,
When I mooned them - what a delight!
They are still in a fog,
Their eyes still glow.
They decided I'm not the neighbor
they want to get to know.

You changed the words. It wasn't foggy moon before.
Once in a blue moon
He will appear soon
Quiet in the foggy night
Fill her with great delight
Warm glow surrounds her heart
Did she just hear him fart?
Out went the romance far
Poor girl was forever scarred
Guy got kicked in the shin
Yelled the girl. "You belong in a loony bin"

moon, fog, quiet, glow, night.
They say there's a man in the moon,
Glowing quietly in the night.
I hope the fog comes soon.
So I can be shielded from the light.

@just4him thankfully it was also patchy, so the whole route wasn't dangerous

Great poem with which to introduce the challenge - moonlight in fog is quite impressive

I get a fright ,
When we drive at night,
As we see the glow,
That is coming from below,
All is quiet ,
As the fog surrounds us.

HoHoHo! the strange one
That was summer warm night
And the Moon was so bright!
Glowing fireflies dots
Made me think of gin shots.
My slow breathing was quiet.
I observed color riot.
I came home in the morning,
When my wife gave me warning.
Sunrise greeted me gently,
I was looking intently
At that big foggy cloud.
Police siren wailed loud...
