Myth or Truth?

Or just our minds playing tricks?
Is it possible to predict future in our dreams? Is it possible to dream a prophecy or have a premonition ?
Or is it over-active imagination at work?
I was searching and reading about this on the Internet. I found this article. I have added the link below: Please give it a read along with the comments that follow the article. It's interesting really.
According to the author of the article, predictions are truth. Not a myth. Not something made up.
Remember those "déjà-vu" moments? Those are puzzle pieces clicking into place. We have dreamed it and forgotten it. When it became reality, the pieces clicked. Imagine if it were true, how many predictions gone forgotten.
Of course, not all predictions make sense. Some are utter nonsense and unrealistic. But it does make me wonder about the sub-conscious mind that seems to be always out of reach.
What are your thoughts on that?
Dreams can and DO come true. But it is a bit more complex than you may think, and many who have not experienced dreams like this can find it confusing. How is it possible for dreams to come true? Iv'e never had a premonition, do they really exist? ...

there have been cases where dreams become reality...or basically dreams warn them of upcoming problem or something
i heard about a lady who kept dreaming of hallway , reaching door and getting shocked..for solid month...later on during holiday she had her deja vu moment and at the other side of the door was her husband ..who passed away
my question is what happens to those who dont dream

There is no human on the planet who does not dream. It is pure science explained by something known as REM. It is a different thing though that many dreams do not remain for long in memory and are often forgotten by the time you/dreamer wakes up.

@Daljinder well there are too many! I would recommend you checking out yours too. If you dream of a persistent symbol, look it up in the dream dictionary. its uncanny what you will find. Dreaming is basically your unconscious trying to communicate important stuff to your conscious.
But, it knows no language, so it tries to communicate in symbols.

@Drosophila I very rarely remember my dreams. Those I do remember are vivid. No joke! But I have never seen any symbols. I do see people I know. Those I have lost touch with. Sometimes strangers too.

@vandana7 It's just the fear of the unknown talking where people say if you have dreamed it don't verbalize it. And of course it would bring bad fame. lol People are strange. They believe in all tantrik stuff like black magic, voodoo and are scared of dreams.

@vandana7 I keep finding out how superstitious your family is. You mentioned checking the dates and time as in auspicious date and time? I don't know how accurate those things are. we never had any auspicious dates set up for naming kids, marriages, prayers, etc... We just select the dates according to holidays so that most of the relatives can be present without causing them any inconvenience. Mostly Sunday is the day selected.
You do know that it was not your fault, right? You don't have the evil eyes or as they say the black tongue. lol It's like priests starting ridiculous practices.

@Daljinder We know a lot about it--what parts of the brain control which functions, what neurotransmitters are involved in depression, etc.--but we're always learning new things.

The topic is amazing and thanks for sharing the link.
I was reading a book by Dr Joseph Murphy and came to know about the tremendous power of subconscious mind! What happened one day, I saw in my dream that I was vomiting. The dream was horrible! i woke up to find that I had tremendous acidity! I took medicine and got back to sleep. The dream really shook me!

@arundhatiwriter @anya12adwi Oh yeah! Sometimes we dream about pain in certain body part and wake up with that part hurting too. A good example will be the urge to pee.
Like if you have a full bladder, you might dream of going to the bathroom.

Predictions are often guess work. Sometimes they come true.

It is our (mis) interpretations that makes us feel that mind is playing a trick specially when analyzing dreams or even palmistry. As far as dreams are concerned about 95% of the ones we remember when we wake up tell us (why only warn us) something we have been concerned with in the past or something the we can expect happening in the (very) near future.

First I'm gonna respond (before I even read the article) ... though I might read the article & respond again, as my response now is pretty-much 'the reaction you guessed'---yes, it's just over-active imagination.
The fact is that 'the only reason you know anything is going to happen is 'over-active imagination' ... Good thing, too; you stand at the edge of a cliff, your 'over-active imagination' scares you (rightly!) into backing away from the edge.
Dreams and other 'subconscious-mind enablers' access your deep memories and mental abilities, speculating on your future possibilities by plugging-in your recollection of how similar conditions worked out.

Sometimes I think that all humanity is living in a state of subconcoiusness. Everyone living to get hteir part of the cake in this world.
It´s like having forgot the basic principles of life very early in life or just in the womb of our mother after one began sensing the first aberrations of life.

I don't believe it can predict the future. Dreams are mostly made up of memory. There is this article --
It explains the process of dreams. Also there is a dream chart to explain what mental state you are in in the physical world corresponding to specific symbolism. Check it out if you're interested in learning more.
Dreams can be pleasant, horrid or outright creepy. We all dream — even if we don’t recall anything the next morning. But why do people dream?
