Electricity company giving problems

In my country we have only one electricity company which provides electricity and they always give problems. We have load shedding. For those who don't know what it is, it is basically when an area's electricity gets cut for 1-2 hours or even more. Load shedding is a big problem in my country and lots of people complain about it.
Do you have any similar problems in your countries or states?

Well where i live ( Belgium ) we have also one Big company that supplies the whole country ( Belgium is not a big country , only 11 million population ) but we rarely have power cuts. In the ten years i lived here , we had only one power cut that lasted only two hours. Where are you from Jaco ?

@marlina Here we have Electrabel and its the Biggest and the sole provider of electricity , and the repair and maintenance company is Orest, i have no interested in spewing jibber-jabber.

From what I've read on this, the company doesn't have much choice in the matter. When their system is taking on more than it's able to handle, then they are forced to shut down. Otherwise, you might be stuck without any power for days. The problem might be resolved if people learn better ways to conserve energy.
We don't have this problem in my state unless somebody forgets to pay the bill or misses the grace period.

The thing is, it only started a few years back from what I can remember. There was also notices on the TV from time to time. The company also sells our electricity to our country's neighbours.
Could anyone tell me if I may post links? I would like to show you an article about this.
