Nowadays people have become so much drifted towards junk eating that they simply avoid or skip the homemade meals. That's one of the reasons for occurrence of diseases like diabetes, heart issues, hypertension and a lot more. It's high time that people should realize what all junk food is doing to not just their body but also to their mind. The right choice is in your hands.
If you have to choose between healthy homemade food and junk food which one will you choose and why? And which one do you consume the most in your life?

Since starting my weightloss journey, I will always try and go for the healthier option. I tend to stay away from the junk food and spend a lot of time coming up with healthy alternatives. There are so many junk food options today and sadly, most of them are disguised as healthy options.
A friend of mine was incredibly proud of herself a few days ago, for making a healthy choice at McDonalds. She chose to buy a fruit smoothie for her lunch item. It hurts my heart that people think this is a healthier alternative to junk food when they have access to the nutritional facts. The right choice is never processed.

@shubhu3 Sometimes I think that my friend has the right perspective, but refuses to accept it. I used to refer to certain foods as the "healthier option," when I knew deep down it wasn't. I think it's just a means of making yourself feel better about your terrible choices.

@lexinonomous Yeah that's also correct. Everyone has their own perspectives and choices. :)

I must admit, even after keeping myself away from all, I am a fond of junk food. This junk eating is in existence due to this fast lifestyle we're having.
Anyday, I will choose homemade food, but its just that there are simply many reasons that I've given to myself, which don't make me prepare and eat them. Considering I stay away from home, it is also equally tiresome and hectic for me to prepare food after office or before office. Hence consuming junk food has increased beyond the expected level.

Okay your case is a little different and similar to that of my brother. He also lives far away and use to eat junk a lot.But recently he and his flat mates have hired a cook so that they can reduce the consumption of junk. You can also try this thing.

@shubhu3 I wish I could try that one, but I have a dog at my place and me and my roommate leave for our work in almost wee hours.
Point noted though!

I prefer home-cooked meals and typically have leftovers instead of going out to a restaurant for lunch. The only time we even eat fast food any more is if we're on a time crunch and nobody thought to put something in the slow cooker.

If I had a choice between the two, I would choose homemade from scratch, not homemade from a box. I agree there is so much junk food that you even need to be aware that even homemade food isn't all good for you. When you make it completely from scratch that's best. To answer you second question, unfortunately I eat more of the box meals than the scratch ones. Though I am looking to make a complete change in my diet as soon as I move. Right now my son lives with me and he is more for those box meals full of preservatives. On my own, I won't be buying any of that.

My parents brought us up with no junk foods. So we are not fond of eating it. Homemade foods are usually served.
