Spam messages and why I do not block them

From time to time, I have received personal messages promoting referral links, YouTube videos, or anything under the sun: It gets annoying especially when it is something that you are not interested in. However, I am reluctant to block them as I have also received nice messages, or genuine messages as well. For instance, a member messaged me to ask for more details regarding a discussion I posted, and we had a short chat. I do like such interactions Will you choose to change your settings, to limit the people that can message you ?

This morning here, I received another scam/spam message . I just ignored.I do not know why there are scammers that entered this site.

I dont think all are scammers, some are just trying to promote their own site I guess

Yes, giving them your email address will just lead to more spam. I guess it is advisable not to do so

I reply and tell these people what I think of them - but sometimes the admins deletes them quicker than I can do that.

Yes! Sometimes they spam thousands of people and they get blocked

I just ignore spam messages. Sometimes I get annoyed seeing same messages from the same sender that's the time I block them.
