I spent much of the day trying to contact my sister for updates on my mum’s condition, as she has spent much of the weekend visiting her in hospital. For some reason, my sister wasn’t answering her phone. I knew there was no serious change in my Mum’s condition or there would have been urgent calls, but not knowing for sure is distressing. She finally had to get through about 9pm, confirming that my mum is making some good progress. The cat, Smudge is spending more time sitting with me – a privilege usually reserved for my Mum.
