The suspect who robbed me, hanged herself in jail

I felt devastated when I arrived in the city jail. The one who robbed me committed a suicide by hanging herself in her cell at the middle of the night. She used her belt. Her dead body was brought to her hometown in Surigao City. The police on duty was not able to monitor for the criminal was in her slide like sitting position. The police showed me the photo and I confirmed she was the one who robbed me. According to the police investigator, Luz Denuyo, the suspect, was informed that I am coming to her cell the next day to talk to her, and identify her as the suspect of robbery. After knowing my visit, she was restless, she cried for few minutes and calm down. She did not eat her dinner and slept before eight o'clock. She might have pretended to be asleep for she has a plan how to escape from her guilt. She was discovered unconscious at five o'clock in the morning, so she was brought by the police to the nearest hospital..The doctor confirmed her dead on arrival.
Conscience is the ultimate norm of morality. Despite being a drug addict, my former friend still has the guilt that tortured her to her death. My heart is actually sick of this reality . May Luz Denuyo Rest In Peace.

@boinboing, You are right , the belt must have been put in safety. The police might be investigated.I do not know if she has close relatives in our city.I do not like this experience, non-stop and traumatic.I will never recover my money. I told her through my mind that I have forgiven her so she could rest in peace.Too bad to know of this happening, it aches me more.

@MGjhaud, she was not able to suffice her guilt and shame. That was the kind of life she chose. It was not supposed to be her destiny. She was also a victim of others. She was so weak. May Luz Denuyo, the suspect rest in peace.

She was obviously not in the right mind during all of this.
Just remember not to blame yourself! You didn't know any of this would happen

such a sad outcome - it is in no way anything you should feel guilty about. You were showing so much compassion for her despite the wrong she did you. As @boiboing notes, she should not have had such easy means to take her own life

@cacay1 yes, had she spoken with you things might be different but there are no certainties there - she made her own choices in life - no refletion on you at all

@cacay1 What you can do is offer and attend the mass you offered for the repose of her soul.

Oh my goodness! She was a friend? I don't know if I understood that part. But I understand how shocking the news must have been. On a different note , I hope you didn't have to suffer a great deal of loss due to the robbery. I just hope you're not caught in the irritating web of police enquiries..

@Curlybobby Yes, so horrible until this time I feel the pain and scare. Please write the happening you have there now about your friend having her ATM stolen so Mylotters here would do extra care to themselves. Write it under discussion.

I am sorry this happen to you and to your ex friend. Guilt can sometimes be terrible thing to live with, and I guess she could not do it. I hope you can let it go, and not let it torment you.

Thats horrible and I agree with the other comment stating she shouldnt of been allowed to have a belt with her in her cell. They are supposed to strip you of everything that you could possibly harm yourself with, Shame on their part!
