So Busy Weekend

My husband and I were so tired the whole weekend due to his siblings who came to visit us to see our son who celebrated his birthday and graduation from college as well. Though they had graduation rites last April 5, and now he already has a job, my in-laws and other relatives were not able to come because they live far from us. So we cooked some food and we had a happy time entertaining them. It happens just once a year when they come to visit us, so it was a day of never-ending conversations and laughter. Do you also play host to such family gatherings?

Yes I do - I usually have all of my family here once a year. As you say, it's very tiring, but worth the effort.

Yes, very tiring, but the fun is so lasting; so with the close relationships.

Wow your son is already working. Other fresh graduates find it hard to land a job.

Thanks, l @sol_cee, yes, we are so glad he already have a job, although he does not like it so much (marketing analyst); but we encouraged him saying he can learn a lot from that work which is a combination of office and field work. We like him to experience the rigors of life.

Yes, by all means!! We have a festival called Diwali each year, where all the extended family meets and celebrates. It's an ensemble of lights and good food! But the most important of all, we can have a good connect with one another in the family and know more about how they're doing in their lives.

@acelawrites Yes, it's amazing fun to have everyone around and celebrate. More than anything, I enjoy the different type of lights and taking the pics at the right time!

I saw on TV how you celebrate the Diwali festival. Is it the Festival of Lights? Family bonding is the best that comes with such festivities.

What a wonderful time you would have had. Once a year is not very often is it? Do you miss them a lot between visits or are you able to visit them?

We seldom visit them due to the distance and my husband is also busy with his work and I don't want to go there on my own and take public transportation.

There are really so many things we used to enjoy when we were still young; but when we grow old, it becomes limited.
