Well, of course he does. He has next Monday off for Memorial Day and I have to work.
Maybe he thinks I can get the day off. Well easier said than done. I am sure there will be many that will call in for the day. Healthcare workers have to work holidays. That is a fact.
So, he will probably be spending the day at the lake, on the boat, fishing all day. I'll bet he sends me a text or two when and if he gets a fish.
Yup, I am whining.

I always have mondays off, but being a paid holiday I will get 8 hours of pay with no work on that check

@Jessicalynnt I guess they don't consider it to be a paid holiday.

@ElusiveButterfly that's sad! You should at least get holiday pay

People who get days off and get paid for them, always lord it over those who have to work. It's something built into the human psyche. I've been there done that many times. I worked in a call center and worked those days too. I looked at it like this: I was getting double time and a half to the person who didn't work and only got straight pay for it. So how does your working on Memorial Day affect your paycheck? Do you get time and a half for working the holiday? Now lord it over him.

We do not get time and a half. We do get more earned time, and I believe a differential in pay.

Sorry you gotta work, my sister did too but she took a vacation day so she could have off. We automatically get Memorial day off, I work in a hospital but in billing so we do get certain holidays off. Maybe if the weekend is nice you can go boating and still enjoy it since you can't next Monday.

Of course as luck would have it, it is going to be very nice this weekend and I have to work until 3:30 Saturday and Sunday.

I am trying to be cool with it. However, I really could use another day off.

He will find something to do. Most likely he will go to the lake with the boat and spend the day on the water. I have no problem with it other than he doesn't know how to swim.

@ElusiveButterfly In that case I'll keep my fingers crossed that he doesn't fall in. :)

@JudyEv Thank you. He tells me not to worry, but I am the queen of worry.

There have been plenty of times when he has gone without me. Just wish we had more days where we could go together.

Before this company took over, if our clients did not want a visit on a holiday we could take the time off. Not so any more.
