My New Blog

I've been a bit uncertain what to do with myself since BlogJob suspended their rewards program earlier this month. I love that site and don't want to leave, but I don't want to put hours of my time into it for no reward either. Memories of Bubblews persist and I don't want to be cheated again. I've reserved names for my two main blogs elsewhere in case the worst happens and BlogJob doesn't recover, but for the meanwhile I decided to try something new, so I've created a photo blog at BlogSpot. The joy of that is that I don't have to worry about the 300 word minimum that is required for my BlogJob blogs. Shorter posts are far more appropriate for a photo blog. Now to get to work digging into the thousands of photos I've taken over the last few years and see which ones I want to use.

I had enough to waste my time, not only Bubblews, but Persona Paper and CGP Gallery and another one I do not even remember the name. For the moment I only write here and I will take the time to update my personal blog.

@LadyDuck It's really difficult to know what to do about BlogJob at the moment. Their moderator is encouraging members to keep posting as that is the best way to bring traffic to the site, but only a few bloggers are still active and I'm not sure whether that's helping. I really want to update my bonsai blog because I've got a new post that I NEED to write, but I'm just so afraid that everything might vanish and I'll have to start over elsewhere. At this stage the inconvenience that would cause means more to me than the money.

Thanks @LadyDuck . That's where I've just opened my photo blog. If things don't work out at BlogJob I'll open another blog or two there, but right now I'm concentrating on my photos. I might just add one or two posts at BlogJob though, as there are a couple of posts I'd really like to write updates on, and doing them somewhere else wouldn't be good as they'd have no context.

@Gina145 You are right, Bubblews was the one that caused the biggest problems, it was also the site that paid most. I do not know if BlogJob will recover. Persona Paper started with the same problem, the users stopped to post and it never recovered.

Blogspot and Tumblr are both good for photo blogs. Good alternate plan if you're unsure about BlogJob.

@Gina145 - Stick with what works for you. I'm pleased with my blog on Blogspot as well. I have a lot more freedom of expression with it than with BlogJob - though I am happy to be at both sites. Or I should say, I'm happy to not have been banned from both sites.

Thanks for the recommendations @cmoneyspinner . I've started a few little blogs at Tumblr but I really feel lost there. I don't know how to get my posts seen. At least at Blogspot I've been getting some traffic.

@cmoneyspinner I just hope that BlogJob will recover from its problems because I really enjoy using the site and I liked the bit of money we got for each post. And it would be really hard to re-establish my bonsai blog at Blogspot as I couldn't promote the same posts at Reddit all over again.

Good luck with the photo blog. I only use Mylot, it's enough for me.

Thanks @jaboUK . I love myLot, but I feel that I need something else too. I really want to continue with my bonsai blog too, but I'm worried about wasting time on new posts at BlogJob. If I was sure that the site would survive I'd post without reward, but if it closes I don't want to have too much content to move.

@jaboUK I'm inclined to think the same. I hope we're wrong though.

@Gina145 It doesn't look hopeful for Blogjob.

@JESSY3236 When did you join BlogJob? If you only joined recently then I guess you were lucky that you didn't like it. I like the site and I have been paid by them, so I really want it to recover. I'm just not sure that's going to happen.

@JESSY3236 Well then you're lucky you didn't put much effort into BlogJob.

Sorry to hear about your BlogJob. Thankfully, you found another way to get out your creative and great ideas, and are able to tell stories that only pictures can pain so amazingly.

Thanks @MEAngle . I haven't given up on BlogJob just yet, but I'm worried about what the future holds for it.

@MEAngle I certainly hope it doesn't. I'd hate to be forced to move the content from my BlogJob blogs elsewhere and have to start promoting them all over again.

Glad to know that you have already found a good site, photo blog, which is worth trying for your time and energy. I hope all of those blogging sites that pay people for their time and energy contribution work well, which is a double-win for the sites and their participants, which is very realistic if both reach their aim at the sites, making money for both sides.

Hi, I have visited your blog, very interesting and inspired me. I soon open a new blog, just thinking what topics - health, herbs or earn topics. One pic I saw is the fly, I have post here about Bee Fly, do you notice this. If you can fiind them in yr place, that great.

Sorry to hear that. I know how you feel. After Bubblews, I almost wanted to give up writing.

@kellyr634 Bubblews didn't make me want to give up writing, but the problems there certainly gave my creativity a knock, and my doubts about the future of BlogJob aren't helping either. That's why I decided I had to try something different while I'm waiting to see what the future holds for that site.

Bubblews is one place many made money. Many sites seems to fizzle when things get promising. Hope you find a place that is rewarding.

Thanks @PatZAnthony . I still miss the best of Bubblews, but at BlogJob I learnt how to concentrate on a niche albeit not the most popular one. I'd like to continue in that direction, but it seems that earning money from a blog isn't going to be easy.

best'f luck'n yer new venture, hon. i'd say work fer yerself, though such does take a bit'f time to build a followin'. fer me, i'd rather make nothin''n my own than to feel cheated by someone else. there's a "tip jar" 'n my blog 'n many others. not much comes from such, but a way fer folks to show their 'ppreciation fer others. i prefer such o'er adverts any ol' day.

Thanks @crazyhorseladycx . I'm still hoping that I'll be able to continue at BlogJob, but this blog was never suited to that site anyway, and without the problems there it might never have happened. I'm not optimistic about making money out of it, but I guess time will tell.

I feel the same way about writing without compensation, and as there really hasn't been any news I decided to migrate my content to my personal blogs. I think if things do come around at BlogJob, I'll just have one blog there instead of three. And I'll likely reserve it for fun content like writing challenges.
