30 minutes to spare (while I dye)

United States
May 23, 2016 8:58am CST
Seems as if my morning was off to an earlier start than usual. My mom is all settled and ready for the morning and I found myself with some extra time on my hands. I've been procrastinating dying my hair for awhile as I just never seem to find a window of opportunity to apply it and sit with it on my hair for 30 minutes. Today I found my time and quickly applied the dye before I get involved in other things. Now I have 30 minutes to myLot while my dye does it's magic! The landscapers are outside doing their mowing and weed whacking so the dogs will be inside until they are finished. Seems as if everything is working in my favor this morning!! Don't you just enjoy those moments when you finally get something done that you've been putting off......

I never bother with dyeing my hair, so I don't have that particular problem.

@Marilynda1225 Yes - it's something that you have to keep doing once you've started, isn't it? Doesn't look too good when it's growing out.

It is a wonderful feeling to get some things done that you have wanted to do for a while done. Good for you having a day like that.

Most days it takes planning for me to accomplish some of the simplest tasks

I stopped dying my hair many years ago, it grows so fast that I had to this this annoying task almost every week.

@Marilynda1225 I remember that years ago I decided to perm my hair, it was in fashion and I did. The hairdresser told me that a perm usually last from 3 to 5 months... after 4 weeks of trimming my hair it has completely gone.

thankfully my hair grows slowly so I don't have to do it until every 6 weeks or so

I used to get highlights but they became too expensive. However, a professional job is so much nicer than a do-it-yourself at home

I'd say my time mostly goes in my favor! (mostly being the operative word) Enjoy the washing out part, that's the best part of dying.

Yes I do and it happens all too infrequently. Those little stolen moments, today I cleaned my husbands dresser and it felt very good.

Its been a lot of years, over a decade, since I've dyed my own hair. I even stopped having the hair dresser put in the low lights. I'm content with my greys, but I do have to stay out of the direct sunlight unless I am wearing a hat, because the sun bleaches my hair grey. I don't need to fast forward this process any!!
