I don't have an issue with vegans. To me, having an issue with the way people eat is silly. I commend people that can manage to give up meat and animal products entirely. I don't have it in me. I was a vegetarian for several years and sadly, I don't see myself going back to it. Vegan food is delicious and no one's hurting anyone by living a vegan lifestyle. Good for them and their vegan movement.

@ebby123 I took a philosophy class. My professor had us watch a documentary on processed food and then presented a few lifestyle changes. The more that I learned about how meat made it's way to my plate, the more disgusted I became. It simply grossed me out.
I started eating meat again when visiting a friend's house. I felt terrible because she had gone out of her way to make me food without onion (I hate onion,) and she didn't know I was a vegetarian. I ended up forcing myself to eat the burger she made me and threw up for a solid hour. Honestly, from there, I'm not sure how I continued to eat meat.

@lexinonomous Interesting. I've heard similar stories about people going back from either vegetarianism or veganism. Thinking about it know and what you know, why do you think you eat it?

We did not know we were a movement. Our family has eaten a certain way for generations.

Well, the movement is a good thing, overall. It could be done so much better, but better have what we do than nothing at all! I guess you've seen how the recent YouTube Vegan Drama played out?

I heard that being a vegan will make your life longer. I admire vegans because I can't do that. I can't live without meat.

@ebby123 We don't have a wide variety of vegetables in the market near our apartment, so it would not be easy to stick to a vegan diet.

@cheerfulnuts Well there's also grains, nuts, seeds, and fruits you can eat.

As with @lexinonomous I have no issue with what people eat. I only object to anyone -- and I don't care who or what their agenda is -- who try to force their food preferences on others. You don't see Jews running around trying to get Subway to stop selling ham and pepperoni, do you? Or Catholics insisting that steak houses close on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all the Fridays in Lent? If it floats your boat, bravo. I have a lactose intolerance, but I'm not going to tell everyone not to drink milk simply because I can't!

Yes because people have freedom of religon. Veganism however is not a religion. I don't think anybody can force anything upon anybody, at least not the way religious people or vegans do, because the opposing side always had the options to listen or not. There's no immediate ultimatum.
