I first read the book when I was about her age (11) and figured it would be a good summer reading option for her. She read the first chapter of it and seems to like it so, hopefully, she'll enjoy it as much as I did.

A superb classic novel that is must reading for every person. After she reads the book, see the movie.

That's the plan. I'm sure she'll like the movie too.

I'm afraid I have to confess, I only read this for the first time a few weeks ago, and I'm well into my 60s!

It's a good book and worthy read. Harper Lee is a good author.

In any case, reading is a good habit. I am yet to read that book; Let's see how it goes this weekend. I am planning to visit a nearby bookstore :)

Racial discrimination is something I hope my grandchildren never have or have to go through. Good choice.

When I explained to her what the book was about, she gave me a blank stare. I then told her the book takes place in the 1930s, a light bulb came on and she said the plot made a lot more sense.

A classic and I'm sure she'll come back to it again for a second or third read.
