According to Hinduism, everyone needs a GURU - a teacher to guide him towards salvation. Most of us think of having a guru when we reach 60 or 70 years, because till then we are entangled with the aura of family life, its happiness and its tragedies and responsibilities. One takes to reading philosophical books at the age of 50 or 60 and realise they need a guru. A guru is available for those who are having absolute devotion, sincerety of purpose and above all absolute honesty. One need not give up materialistic life to become a philosopher and still pursue his thiking and practice of philosophy. Fortunately, in India, there are millions of gurus available and one can easily approach them and it costs nothing. Until the guru says you are through, one has to be with him to learn the trade and not the tricks of the trade. There are no tricks here. It is absolute simplicity, desireless life, awesome respect for fellow human beings and other living creatures. One will find god in himself, all these days not visible, becomes visible if his samskaras are good.
