Do You Interact With Those Who Do not Reply to Your Posts?

We all know that myLot is a site for interaction on discussions /posts, but there are times when some people just don't mind, or maybe do not have much time to respond/react to posted discussions or to your comments on their posts.
When you encounter such member, do you still read their discussion post or you ignore them?
What is your take on this?

It is a common thing here; if you reply to other's posts/comments, they will give back; some sort of give and take; a friendly gesture.

@Hatley yes, because we need more time here so we can go to friends' posts and comment at the same time.

I do not mind if a member responds or not to my posts : I post rarely a new discussion, and I prefer to respond/comment. I also respond only to posts when I have something to tell, and I would not try to force me to respond if I am not inspired by a discussion. If I find the discussion good, I like it and I look for another more inspiring for me. But, yes, times to times, I check the profile of a responder, and I respond to one of his/her discussions.
The only think that I dislike is when people do not comment back to their own discussions. Come on, it is their discussion, so they have certainly a comment to do when someone takes the time to respond! It might happen once in a while, but if their usual behavior is to never comment back and interact, I stop to respond to their discussions, even if they are interesting.

I find it a responsibility to check my discussion and reply to those who gave comments. It is a friendly gesture and a come-on for them to read your post again. I agree with you. Thanks for your long response, @topffer .

It has not been my concern if the person does not interact with me. What matters to me is just I am able to voice out my opinion and I feel great that through mylotting I can do what I usually afraid to do in real. If the mylotter who posted the discussion replied, I feel thankful and if not, I cannot do anything about it. Only he or she knows the reason why he or she fails to respond and I do not want to take it seriously because I want Mylot to be a friendly community.

@acelawrites I agree. There are many active mylotters and I am happy to be on their discussions. I am happy I am able to participate in your discussion as well.

Such a nice outlook. Yes, we could not compel them to reply or interact ; but more interaction will make this site a very lively one.

@acelawrites Certainly - seeding a discussion is very important, nudging it gently on...

It makes the site active, yes, when members do a lot of posting and interacting.

I will respond to anyone and always try to answer anyone who comments on my posts. Sometimes I miss someone but never on purpose. I would hope they would answer back but if they don't, I go on to something else. If you want people to interact with you, you should do the same for them.

I agree, it is the "magic formula" here, just give and take.

To ignore them will not sove the problem. Even if they didn't comment on your post. You can comment on their own, they'll respond to you

Everyone has his right to reply, read or not, but if you wanted more people to respond/interact with you, you should also be active doing it.

The operative word in your title is 'interact'. By definition that is a two-way thing, so if someone doesn't interact with me after I've responded to them several times, I usually leave them alone. That's not a hard and fast rule, as if I see something that they've written that looks interesting I'll likely give them another chance.
But as you say, this is a discussion site, and if they don't want to do that then they are in the wrong place.

Well everyone have a reason why they do not like to interact or respond or give any reaction to your post or reply. I just give them what they want: I don't bother reading them again, unless of course if they had made a very interesting discussion/post.

Yes, some sort of "customer care" or loyalty aspect. Thanks, @JudyEv.

Thanks for the share. I still continue commenting on his or her discussion. Only thing is that I have to possess some knowledge on the topic.

I agree, I find it hard to comment when I am not so familiar with the topic like some sports events I don't know about. Thanks, @sathviksouvik .

@acelawrites Thanks Acelawrites, if I know the topic I respond irrespective of whether the writer responds to my topic or not.

It is a good attitude. Just talk a little so they'll know you had read their post.

Makes no sense to be at a site set up for interacting, for you to not interact with people who are making an effort to interact with you. But to answer your question: I don't let whether or not other people interact with me, prevent me interacting. In other words, I'm used to talking to myself.

I am one that is always crunched for time but I try to interact with as many people as I can. I read and comment on random posts and not always just the people I follow. I make no difference in who I talk to. Some people get offended but I am not one of those people.

That's good. I would read a lot of posts even from people I do not follow if their discusions are interesting and if I have more time.
