Acute leukemia

After our early morning walk today, I drove my wife to the hospital to get the results of the blood sample analysis of her mother-in-law's cook. The doctor of the provincial hospital's suspicion of leukemia was confirmed. The cook has indeed leukemia - and it's acute leukemia. The doctor who analyzed the blood sample is my cousin - the lone hematologist in the city. The cook does not have any knowledge yet as to her ailment. Her live-in partner though has arrived the other night from Mindanao, her birthplace. Initially, she was mad why her live-in partner came, as told by the maid of my wife's brother who brought the meals for the cook. My wife was mad at the reaction of the cook at her live-in partner's coming. What does she (the cook) want? My wife to watch over her? My wife is busy doing all the errands for her mother and she has even hired caregivers 24/7 for several years now to watch over her mother that she would not stumble or what. Today, my wife's walkmate has called her to have their usual lunch at the mall and go movie-watching after. My wife is going with her, probably to have a break from all the hassles she's having at her mother's house.

Blood transfusion has been done at one bag a day for 3 or 4 days I guess.

Wife is kind enough to be bugged with the cook's situation. And she isn't a relative even. It's about time for your wife to relax now. Give her a massage pronto!

I'm tired myself with all the things I do - cutting grass and trimming the plants. That's their problem because the cook was under their employ.

@sol_cee Lazy? You call me lazy? Well, that's your opinion. I'm sure there are a lot out there doing nothing and just wanting to sit on the dining table and eat.

Good thing I wasn't your wife. If I were her, I would never do anything in her favor.

Yes, I knew of a friend's brother who passed away a few months after having been diagnosed with leukemia despite having gone to good hospitals in Manila for treatment. Another acquaintance, a lawyer, was given 2 weeks to live. Despite this diagnosis, the family brought him to Manila but indeed, in 2 weeks' time, he passed away.

I hope the cook would get cured from this illness. I think it's better if the wife will have a break for herself at least.
