This kind of jobs isn't probably new to most of us anymore. I am pretty sure you have already encountered this, even just the term, before.
I am posting this because I have been taking interest in this kind of work as of lately. Especially, in the field of writing. Would anybody in any kind of home-based job mind to share their experiences and tips for those like me who wants to begin in this field? Do you think this new kind of work could still be a very good step in your career?
Thank you so much in advanced, fellow myLotters. Good day! :)

I'm with Upwork for 6 months now. I also write for some clients but I'm in the legal field. I write Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Disclaimers, Petitions/Motions & other legal documents, and articles on Taxation. They pay high under my category (Legal Category). I'm not sure of the others.

@anachroniSaM I've been doing it full-time (for 6 months now). I do have regular hourly clients at Upwork but beginning Monday, I'll only work for them on weekends since I'll be back with my previous Firm. I'll still accept fixed price projects though.
I enjoyed my 6 months with Upwork. I never encountered a scammer because of their escrow feature so all of my projects (hourly & fixed price) were paid. I can negotiate my rates as well depending on the difficulty of the case.
If one has regular clients under the legal category on Upwork, he/she doesn't need to go & work in countries abroad because one gets to receive a pay equivalent to those working abroad. I know of lawyers on Upwork who gets $100/hour for legal consultation.
I can't say that all categories pay well but as to the legal category, clients there pay high.

@anachroniSaM I don't think I'd earn enough money to support my expenses if I do a full time online job. I still need my day job. It's expensive here.

i see. why can't you go full-time. personally, for now i would still want to go part-time or freelance. i guess it still is case-to-case basis for us.
