Working From Home

Okay, so ideally I would love to be able to work from home full time. I actually forgot about mylot for a while, and that you can actually make money from using this site. I want to be more diligent to work at this and will probably set blocks of time throughout the day to sit down and write discussions.
How do others do mylot? Are you writing the discussions on a whim? Or do you schedule time into your day to do it?
I am actually a pretty crafty person and I enjoy making crafts for others. I have made money from craft shows in the past and recently for Mother's Day projects. The problem that I run into with this is that there is an up front cost for me to create these items. My hubby is the only one working right now because I am considered a high risk pregnancy and have to take it easy. So I can sit and type and create. But I previously worked as a quality auditor in a factory and that can be physically demanding.
Friends have suggested selling things, like Mary Kay, nutritional supplements and so on. But there is still a substantial cost involved. I don't want to put out much money in order to make money. This week I have made a pile of garage sale items and I hope that can help with something once things sell. I also bake, and people will call me for orders but that is inconsistent.
Babies are expensive and I thought I would be working right now. I feel bad because I am not contributing what I would like to be to our family. Ultimately, a healthy baby girl is the most important.
Any other suggestions for making money from home?

When spending time on Mylot, I will go through the most recent conversations and respond to those that interest me. I try to be diligent in responding to all of my notifications as well. I'm not very good at creating new topics, but I'm okay with responding.

Creating topics can be challenging sometimes, I agree. I think responses are easier too. I am going to try and be diligent and set aside time every morning to get at least a discussion start, and then responses.

@MissDemeanor I try to come up with topics, but I always fail when it comes to being creative with my words. Responses are much easier. I am trying to hop on here when I wake up and when I go to sleep.

I visit Mylot now and then, till I am online. I diligently respond to all the responses on my discussion and also clear my notifications. I also look for new discussion to comment and discuss. Content writing is a good option. If you are good at teaching you could work as a online tutor.

I will look into online tutoring. I have a Master's degree but it isn't in an educational field, rather psychology. However, I will check it out. Good idea!

Like you I have looked for full time earnings from the internet. I make the most income writing for textbroker. As only an average writer I make a penny per word, if your writing sample upon joining ranked you higher, you would make more and also be able to choose more interesting assignments to accept. Others work at some other writing sites. For light hearted, mindless stuff, try Swagbucks. You can join directly or any of your friends who are members would love to have you as a referral. (hint). If you ever have an opportunity to join Pinecone Research, that is a top survey and project site. I hear good things about Mintvine, and have never cashed out, but can, any time.None of these things require upfront investments. Mystery shopping. . . can be no purchase required sometimes. It will depend on where you live as to what is available. Some shops are phone shops. Good luck. Be healthy and well. The only sales thing I have seen really go lately is to be a Dove Chocolatier.

Thanks for all the information. I am definitely going to check into those sites. I am willing to try anything to be able to stay home and make some part time income.I feel like I am realistic about it. I don't expect to make thousands a week. I would be okay with $600-$800 a month. For swagbucks, do I just put your name in?

I make about $200 per month mystery shopping and am hoping to make more during the summer. Of course most of those require going somewhere first (unless it's a phone call or a web site review) But many are somewhere I am going anyway such as to get an oil change, groceries, gas or a hair cut.
