Amazon Good or Not

Amazon

I was reading how Amazon has bought a building in Seattle and will let some homeless people live there until next year. Construction will start next year on their campus expansion. The people who will be living there must meet certain requirements like actively looking for work, doing community service or enrolled in a training program and have a goal for their future. This is not a picture of the building or the inside of it.

I think that's nice and gives those who are trying to change their lives around a place to live so they can seek work and find their own place.

@Marcyaz Yes it's very nice! I'm sure it'll be hard to get on their list though but I like how Amazon is doing this!

I used to think amazon was great but they have an agenda in all they do for making money you can bet. likely that is just publicity they seek. they allowed one of their sellers rip me off of 400 plus bucks, then continue to let him sell on there, even tho I proved my case . it hurt not to get the money back but to add insult to injury, he still sells a lot on there. so they are all about the money period.

@bunnybon7 I know nothing about your dealings with them but people I know have never had any problems with them. Did you say anything about hsi dealings online so people wouldn't buy from him?

@bunnybon7 That was my first thought too, what is in it for them. I guess time will tell.

I'm glad that they have those requirements, but I wonder how they are going to have people prove they are trying to get a job and such so they don't just get freeloaders there.

@Jessicalynnt No matter what the motivation is some people will take advantage of this and be off the streets and pulling themselves back up with this help.

@Marcyaz That's great! I am glad something is being done to help those in need around that area. I wish more people could be so generous like that to help others get on their feet.

@VivaLaDani13 I think so too. Plenty of richies have abandoned warehouses collecting dust. They could put it out there for homeless if they don;t have a use for them.Even if for a short period of time until they get back on their feet. Maybe put them on a time period in which they have to do something or risk being homeless again. This way they wont take it as a handout

@Ronrybs Nothing or nobody in this world is perfect but it shows us they are trying to make things better.

@Ronrybs Yes I understand that as Donna worked there for awhile and she said they had no chairs to sit down in as they expected you to stand the whole shift. Needless to say she didn't want to work there for long.

It is a good thing that they are doing. It gives other people a chance to get their life on track when they have nothing left. This gives people hope and make them want more in life and makes them want to try to get a better life.

@LovingMyBabies It is a really good thing they are doing if only for a year. In that time people should be ready to go out and be productive citizens.

let homeless live? why it has requirements? are they going to make seattle as a facility and they'll hire those people
@Marcyaz (35316)

Requirements because they don't want a bunch of people who will not take care of this place as it is just for a year. Not as far as I know they won't be hiring them unless someone has the qualifications for the job. No one will have to live there unless they want to and are checked out.
