Do you think Prepping is a good idea or crazy?

Personally I think that having a bug -out bag and a piece of land to go to in case of economic collapse/disaster is a good idea. Heavy populated areas will be dangerous when people are unable to buy food are without power and don't have access to many other things we take for granted right now. Call me one of those tin hat crazy's if you must but I think it is like buying insurance kind of. Its not impossible and actually likely in the near future of something like a depression happening.
