Not buying the pink iPhone

Since my husband and I got into an argument today about money, I have decided not to buy the new pink iPhone 5c I really wanted. He yelled at me about money and how we are always broke and how I don't have a job nor help pay for things. Well, I am upset about it but its okay at the same time. I have a working phone and that is all that counts. Sorry to break it to everyone. Maybe I will just save money and buy it when he isn't paying attention and then switch it. I think that may be my plan but not for certain yet. We will see how everything goes I guess. TTYL!

Money is always a contentious issue in a relationship. If you have a working phone, I see no need to upgrade to a new one. Just my two cents.
Of course, it is your money so you can spend it as you please.

Your husband may have a point. Despite being compeativly priced, Apple's phones tend to be overpriced. Sure, older models (such as the 5C) have gone down in price since their release, but it's better to save your money. If there's no reason to buy it (other than you want it), may be better to wait. In a few months it may go down even further in price, seems to happen with the release of newer phones.

I would save money and wait a little until you have a little extra. Plus will you be able to sell your phone if you were to purchase a new one? That can be less pocket money if you'd be able to sell your current phone afterwards.

Coming from someone who was once married, and who had financial troubles? DO NOT do anything like that behind his back.
My ex and I had a lot of strain and resentment towards each other, especially towards the end. There were a lot of other reasons that I won't go into here, but one was the financial situation. I didn't have a job for most of our marriage / dating.
I had a job when I met him, and he didn't have one. I quit mine because it was too stressful, but that also meant that I couldn't find another one as quickly as I would have liked. Everything that was bought etc? He bought.
It's a stressful / straining situation to be in, even when having online income to contribute.
I hope you can get the phone you want though. Is there anyway to make payments towards one?

I usually tell him everything honestly but he fails to listen. I don't what to do anymore. He wonders why I keep to myself

@carebear29 oooh selective hearing just makes me mad! Probably why I've not been in a serious relationship for awhile. I've started telling people how it is.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yep, I am very stubborn and opinionated. He hates that I tell him like it is also. Its okay for him to buy things he wants without me knowing but I can't buy one nice thing. Sad

That's why I suggested painting instead. Because from what you said earlier it seemed like he was hinting around about not buying. That was the impression I had anyway what with the mention of how much was spent on repairs and all. You know how people are sometimes. They never say what they really want, just " I don't mind. Do what you want" and then they blow up at you later. I hope you can still get the phone that you want in time.

If you think your husband has a point then it's much better not to get the pink one.

I guess he'd notice pretty quickly if a new pink phone suddenly replaced the one you have now - personally I'd save up for it myself, open up the web page where I'm going to order it from then as I press 'submit order' loudly announce that I have bought myself a new phone... Yeah, it'd cause a row but you definitely keep the moral high ground for being honest... :o)

I had that phone,I prefer the Android style because whichever Iphone you buy,it comes with a certain amount of space, which you can't expand. So the android is better for me and we agree which phones we want together.
