It's Territory Days Time Again!

It's Memorial Day weekend, which means, in Colorado Springs, it's time for Territory Days. Territory Days is a three-day street festival celebrating the Old West, held on the west side of the city, in what is known as Old Colorado City. Territory Days is now in it's 41st year. There's entertainment aplenty, with Wild West re-enactment's, street performance, blacksmithing, gold panning, and more. There are also two beer gardens, Native American dancers, festival foods, and a lot of live music. In fact, live music is why I continue going. I go to watch Brule, a Native American band from the Lakota tribe in South Dakota. Led by keyboardist Paul LaRoche, Brule combines traditional native folk songs with modern rock instrumentation, often accompanied by traditional Native American dancers. Their crowded shows are fun, and I'll often go see them two or three times during the weekend. I hope you have something equally as Groovy in store this holiday weekend!

That sounds like a huge amount of fun. I will have to check the video. It seems to me that there was a tribe called the Brule' too.

wow I don't think I ever heard their music played quite like that . and I used to go to some pow wow's in California with the Roubidoux that came from the Rosebud reservation. they were our best friends and she taught me Lakota beadwork which is some of the most beautiful and precise there is.

I've never had the opportunity to go to an actual Pow Wow, and in Nevada I had a Native American girlfriend who lived on a small reservation. That must have been fun.

That is awesome buddy. Why can't my city do cool things like that? We could pan for gold here, but despite what the state says we have no water. I want to do blacksmithing and make some swords. I am not a big weapons fan but swords are cool. That is it I am becoming a blacksmith. It may be hard hard hot work but they get to make swords while listening to great music. lol

They, unfortunately, aren't making anything cool like swords. It's horseshoes and stuff like that.

No, it's not. Big crowds, though. And they stopped having a bike lot a couple years ago, so we have to get there by other means.

@teamfreak16 That's pretty narrow minded. You get more bikes than cars into a space
