Central Air Too High

Last night, we left the central air conditioning way too high, it was lovely to sleep in but when we came downstairs, it was freezing. We had to put our sweaters on. It is pretty hot and humid outside still, so we are leaving the air on but not so cold this time. Ah! The comforts of modern life! Nothing like it. When too cold, push the Heat button and when too hot, push the Cold button. Not complicated, but works wonders.

It's great isn't it? Not being too hot, nor too cold. Some of us certainly have it made.

Yes, I consider that we have it made, but we did work hard to get to that point when we were younger. It didn't just fall out of the sky.

@marlina That's is very true. Everything we have we have worked for and we've often waited ages or gone with second-best or whatever.

@JudyEv True. When we were younger, we were very careful with our spending and planned for our retirement.

I wish we had central air at times but i'm ok with just having the ac in my window and can control the temps from there. Hope you weren't cold the rest of the weekend

I know what you mean, we like to keep it cool enough that we still need to sleep with all of our blankets on. I remember when I was a kid growing up on the farm, there was no a/c and only 1 fan in the entire big house. But it was fine, I don't remember every being too hot, but I know that I must have been because I sure cannot endure that now.

I grew up in a small town and we only had a few very hot days in the summer. And we only had 1 fan too for 8 people.

I do wish the thermostat was a bit smarter, like it would keep humidity in mind when it set temps! lol

We're expecting hot and humid weather today so my a/c will be running all day.

I hate it when the weather is hot but you go into a building like a hotel or something and it's freezing and all the windows are sealed shut! What an incredible waste of energy too!

Can you imagine how hot it would be there without a/c?

@marlina well I have been to places that don't have it, at least you know what to expect and don't end up wishing you'd packed a fur coat!

You should probably consider a programmable thermostat, and just program for a setting you can live with, or is comfortable for you. I like mine, and never have that issue..

Indeed! And it is so easy to take it all for granted. Whenever I start feeling sorry about myself and how I am on the verge of comparing myself to others whom I think have it easy in life, I pause and think of every comfort that I have which others may not be fortunate to experience.

I can't sleep with air conditioning. Whenever I'm in a hotel I switch it off. Mind you I also switch the heating off at night in the same hotels.

We're so lucky today than our ancestors during their days. Thanks to modern technology for making our lives easy and comfortable.

all the rain knocked out the fuse that runs our air conditioner...well the whole thermostat. Replaced it and it blew right away. Sadly we don't have money at the moment to buy more fuses so we are just doing with the windows open and thankful that it's not super hot yet.
