Being pragmatic here, I would say it depends on the situation. Yes it would most likely be better if you tried and failed than never trying, however I would never put my arm inside a crocodiles mouth.
I mean if you fail(by losing your arm) it would be much better than never trying
Am I making sense?

Very good post, yes, very true...There is no hard in trying for it is in trying where we experience triumph and success.Let us not be carried by fear, but courage and strong determination.

I totally agree. If you try something and fail, at least you tried. Learn from your mistakes and keep trying until you succeed. Never quit trying. You have to fail to succeed.

@stephjoy True. Take your mistakes as an opportunity to learn how to approach whatever you are failing at a different way until you succeed.

Never trying is worse than failing because in my opinion if i never try than i will never have the satisfaction of knowing that at least I took some steps towards my goal.

Your discussion reminds me of a sentence I once heard: "Try and fail, but don't fail to try" I prefer to try. Things don't always turn out the way I hoped, but I least I learned something from the experience.

I agree with this. Failures are the ones who make us correct our mistakes. Never trying simply mean we are so afraid to fail. When we are afraid of failure, we are not going to work our way out to experience failure. Failure is nice

Great discussion! Failure is an arbitrary assumption, usually characterised by the loss of something or didn't obtain something. If life is a game, we all fails anyways, as given the passage of time, we cannot hold onto anything from material goods to our own lives.
In context of this, is failure that bad? If failure is not an issue, why stop trying. Life is about experiences, the only thing we can hold on for the longest, not trying means you just failed to get some experience, and that surely is much worse
