Unfortunately my wife and I just lost our health insurance and we now find that the combined cost of our medicine will total almost 800 dollars month. I think this is ridiculous! These meds are needed for us to live! Pharmaceutical company heads should be ashamed of themselves. I hope their mansions blow up!

That is crazy. I could never afford that. Something has to be done to get Big Pharma under control.

My point exactly. They now control all the pills and can name their price. But the government needs to get involved but they are too busy being paid off

My wife's medicine was $3800 this month. Fortunately, that pretty much brought us to our insurance deductible so the insurance will be picking up all but a $72 co-pay going forward. But, there has to be a better way.

OUCH! Let me suggest a couple of things that may or may not work. If you have a Costco in your area, get your scripts there. You'll still be paying cash, and the store requires a membership ($55/year per family). Also, if you can get a three months supply, the per month cost often goes down. It's not answer even at best, but maybe it will shave the $800 per month down. My husband and I did that when I had a poor coverage ($19 for generic meds). It was actually less expensive for us to buy our meds at Costco and pay cash for them than get them with the insurance I had. (Which, I might add, was pretty blesses expensive insurance) I wish you all the best. And suggest you apply for Affordable (*cough*cough*) in the meantime if you haven't already

That sounds like a great idea. I already have a Costco membership but I never thought of that!

Oh my, I'm so sorry. Have you tried asking the pharmaceutical companies for a reduction in prices, sometimes they will cut the prices.
