Early in the morning, it's raining very hard and that's the reason I called my Dad that I can't visit them. He understands it also because their place is also raining hard. He told me to stay home and be safe. I was touched of his care and I also told him, take care Dad and also take care of Mom.
That was a lovely and caring short conversation.
I thank God that He extends the life of my old parents.
How about you, are you thankful of their existence even if they are old now?

@Lucky15 Yes, I think Toni was still 14 when her parents passed away and you, 20+. I think at that age, you are not prepared of their absence. How sad but life must go on and still you must be thankful and grateful that they are your parents.

Now how should I answer that question when both my parents passed away at a young age? But if they have lived long enough to be with me, who wouldn't be grateful?

I understand you friend, that is not an easy feeling to be orphaned at an early age. I know, you are a strong woman because of your experiences in life and I know, when your parents are still alive this time, you are very grateful to them especially to your Dad.

@ridingbet Yes, I knew many of them and some of my friends are also like that. I can't tolerate such kind of attitude.

I love my parents. I can't imagine life without them. As much as possible I always let them feel how much I love them.

I envy people like you who still have parents, though they are old. My parents were both gone.

Parents always play an important role in everyone's life...Even if everyone in the world leaves you...Your parents won't leave you...Sometimes they are strict sometimes they scold you but it's for your own good...Just think about your childhood, small moments like when your parents taught u how to walk ,to write, to read, etc don't you think you owe them more than anyone in the world...They have been your oldest friend from the first second of your life...Oldage is called the second childhood and just like they were with you in your childhood you should be there with them in their oldage...Don't leave your parents people just because they can't cope with the changing environment...

Yes, parents play a vital role to us their children and we should also do that to our children and to each children's children. We can't pay our debt to them, their love, care, understanding and everything they have done to us and we must be thankful and grateful to them of what we are now.
Even if I'm tired of going to and coming back home, I'll say to it that I can pay a visit to them everyday and take care of them both. That is one way of giving back my gratitude to my parents.
