One of our dogs had ACL surgery on Wednesday and although she's doing quite well, having a cast on has been rough for her. She loves to lay on her back and that isn't easy for a 15 lb dog when she has a 2 lb cast on her back leg! She's getting it figured out though. She's managed to either flip herself over a few times or whine until we flip her on her back for a nap. Bonus points in this picture for figuring out how to prop her leg up on the back of the couch.

Poor little guy! He should be spoiled :-) ACL sx is very intense and invasive and not to mention very expensive, pets sure are not cheap. I hope he has a speedy recovery and lots of love :-)

She had the kind where a piece of line is attached to the bone to replace the ACL I believe. Yep, $1,400...expensive but she's worth it.
