The Hissing Birds Scared Me!

Have you even seen birds or heard them hiss before? Well I did yesterday when I went to the park and they were hissing at us like snakes as they were trying to protect their young from us. Obviously we meant no harm, but they did not know that and started hissing like snakes at us!
It was really scary as never knew birds could hiss like that!
Have you ever experienced that before?

I have when I was out taking my walk one time. That darn mother bird even dive bombed me scared the daylights out of me. I mean I was walking in the middle of the street and the nest was way up high in the tree. I wasn't near it but mother bird must have thought I was.

@AbbyGreenhill I am pretty sure it was a starling, and from what I have heard they are a mean bird. I will attest to that.

@gudheart ...Are they dehydrated maybe? Do you know what type of bird they are? Did you get a look at them?

I've only seen/heard mocking birds to that, plus they attack people.

Okay, that sounds a trifle odd. Are you sure the birds weren't being attacked by somebody's escaped pet snake?!

No I had no idea. But I think it's great that they can do that to protect their babies!
