As a kid, I'm pretty weird. I keep to myself, I only have 1 friend who happens to be my younger sister. I rarely talk in class, rarely answer the teachers questions and just be the loner I was. All the teachers thought I was stupid and they would mock me in front of everyone.
As a kid, I learned early on to never show emotion, so I never did. Poker faced and unfazzed, I rattle them with my indifference.
For one thing, I don't know why or how they thought of me as stupid, because I get good grades, I just don't talk that much to them or to my classmates
As I got older, I asked some of my friends if they ever felt bad about a teacher, and they said they have, back in elementary school..
Now, I don't usually generalize but a lot of teachers in elementary are pretty mean.. They are condescending and they love belittling children.. Is it because they're children? And kids can't fight back..

I never had a problem with my teachers. Instead, I had problems with my fellow students. I quickly learned not to draw attention to myself and did as you did: kept a poker face, became a loner, and ignored everyone.
On the flip side, when I did get into conversations with my classmates, they all thought I was a straight-A student because I was quiet. I wasn't. I was a C/D student.

I think that's part of it, but it's also because of all the often undignosed childhood disorders out there that teachers can't tell the normal kid from someone who may have a disorder. Often it was easier to loose patience with a kid then it was to get to know the kid and help him or her grow.
Any teacher can tell you that the classes aren't small and the pay is poor. Most are in it for all the wrong reasons and the kids suffer.

It is sometimes but just because some students are quiet doesn't mean they have disorder, right? And it shouldn't be a basis of anything. Most people see small people as prey and it's human nature. They sometime hurt the weak to feel strong maybe because it's them who have unresolved issues.
