Getting Myself in Order

Enjoying nature

Now that I am retired I am thinking that I need to set up some type of schedule for myself. One that allows for writing, on the sites I am on, finishing my final draft of my book, time with my husband, doing some crafting, and just plain old relaxing. I think if I don't set up a plan of some type I will become lazy or start running around in circles never accomplishing anything. So, in my mind, I am trying to decided if I should dole out hours, days, or whatever else I can come up with. I know I need to give myself some time off. What do you think? Do you just go with the flow or do you parcel out time and plan ahead? Image from Pixabay https://pixabay.com/en/nature-contemplation-reflection-1271832/

@just4him it makes me nervous to go with the flow, I keep thinking there is something I need to be doing.

@HazySue I've spent so much time in the work world looking forward to the day when my time is my own that I do not want to put any boundaries or schedules on my time, so I go with the flow. It works best that way for me.

@just4him it would be nice to go with the flow. I wonder if I can relax enough to try it.

Yes every person should have some plan for his/her retired life. Writing with certain subject is a good decision to pass lazy time. I'm a retired man. I should write something.

Writing in mylot is not sufficient. A retired person gets enough time. He or she can write in other fields also and can utilize lazy times.

@celticeagle I am the same way. I do have to plan. I am still thinking of planning by the week instead of by the day.

@LadyDuck I am thinking of scheduling hours per week for different activities. So many hours for writing online, so many hours to write on my book, etc. That way I will get things accomplished yet leave open time for other things. I'll have to see how it works.

@LadyDuck I know they can but I do like to stick to a schedule. That must be the type A personality trait in me.

Now, you are retired, you have more time to do all that, I hope.

As I officially retired two hours ago, I can't help you. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to structure my days.

I go with the flow. I have 4 kids so if I tried to plan everything out I would be in trouble! Lol.

@LovingMyBabies it would be hard to plan with kids to take into consideration. All of mine are having kids of their own.

I go with the flow a little "too much", but for me it is useless to have a schedule as it gives me anxiety.

@marlina I tend to get nothing accomplished if I don't schedule my time. I am slowly getting one put together. I just want to make sure I leave time to relax.
