Fireworks Legal Or Not Legal?

For many years, in the state of Michigan, it was illegal to have fireworks. Most of the metro Detroit area, which is 1 hour away from Ohio would get the fireworks from that state. Then in 2011 Michigan made it legal to have fireworks. Prior to 2011, the truth is if you got caught with the fireworks (unless you did something bad with them), the police only took the fireworks. In 2012 Michigan had 26.4 million dollars worth of firework sales reported and of course they tax all those sales, so they are making more money for the state. People complain about the safety (someone in the summertime usually gets hurt) and there is a complaint that people with animals have trouble when fireworks are shot off. So my question to you is should fireworks be legal in your state or your area? My feeling is it was so easy to go get fireworks from the other state, why not get tax money from it. Yes, because we now sell it in the state, a lot more people use fireworks than before. I see the state side. They like the tax money. My concern is that more people will be harmed and sometimes it could be innocent people watching the fireworks. I dunno, I guess I am more on the fence on this topic. What do you think?
