If you had a choice of 5 items that you would magically never run out of, what would they be?
Me? I personally prefer things with versatility. In other words, I like items that can be used a variety of ways, either alone or with other random ingredients.
My List:
1. Hamburger
2. Potatoes
3. Fresh Carrots
4. Boxed pasta
5. Zucchini.

I use zucchini throughout the summer and early fall (when I'm growing it and can just walk out to the garden) in just about everything. It gets cooked with butter, baked with fish and other meats and even gets added to chili.

Bananas would be a good one for us too but I just can't find decent bananas here. They are always too ripe by the time they get to our stores.

Only 5 is a tough one. For flexibility of the number of differing meals that could be made, I'd have to go for:
- Potatoes
- Eggs
- Cheese
- Baked Beans
- Onions
From that lot I can see baked potatoes, mashed potato, chips, crisps. I can see cheese/onion omelettes, cheese omelettes, Spanish omelettes of potatoes and onions, boiled eggs, poached eggs. I can see cheese/onion/potato pies served with baked beans. There's even a salad in there with boiled eggs, grated cheese and baked beans ... well, a sort of salad :)

I like rice but it's just not something I use a lot of. I don't even think I can buy fish curries here.

Seltzer is one I would have never even thought of. Corn beef hash is one that I would definitely leave off of my list. It's an acquired taste that I never acquired.
