Vacation Time - A Poem

Vacation Time -
If you can carve out some goof-off time, now is the best month of the year to carve it. The last days of school are here now, and that keeps the seashore from being overcrowded with all of those kids. the weather is plenty warm enough but not hot enough yet to scorch your hide. Sure enough, it is vacation time.

Vacation Time
Right here is "out" and so am I.
All that's here is me - sea - sky.
Dishes done - beds all made.
Gone is housework. Real fine trade.
Some time later, wet each toe
That is how time off should go.
But, for now, I'll rest and snooze,
count my blessings. I can't lose.
But if the sun should get too bright
all that water'll cool just right.
Home's the place for sweat and strain,
but seaside's fun - just please, no rain.

@jaboUK - Ms Janet - I used to ask, "What's a vacation?" back in the days before we were retired from our working days. Now I wish that I was back on the job. Too much time off, and my bride and I continuously get into mischief because of that...
Glad you liked the poem. Was thinking about all of those little house-gals out there who sweat and strain every day to keep the plates clean and the bedding dry.
The photo is one from the DVD supplied to me with the publication processor I purchased from Serif. This particular image contained more than 40 mb of data, and so I had to reduce it severely to allow puting it here on the MyLot thing. Could not ask for a better illustration of a person goofing off than that image...
The Serif stuff is good stuff. If you go to their website you will come upon a bunch of "trial" software that you might enjoy using (free stuff)... publishing (word processor), panorama, and more software. I have used their software since around 1995 or so. Good stuff.

@jaboUK - Ms Janet - I really do understnd what you are saying, but I will suggest that you will find things of interest to you in the Serif free trial software listing.
Software is usually very much like "MyLot." (You hit a key and whatever that key was supposed to do for you, it does it. Used to be that you had to be a computer programmer to make use of a computer, but that is no longer the way it works.)
No matter, you could get into lots of problems, as do I when messing around with the more complicated junk. (for example: this Linux MX-14 software on a different than usual computer that I am struggling to learn at this very moment...)
You and I will both arrive at whatever our destinations may be - or somewhere else perchance - in any event - right?
