Newly divorced . . . ways to meet people?

I'm a newly divorced, single mom with a full time job. Upon looking for a way to earn extra income, I ran across myLot. Since I'm here, I thought I'd throw out this question . . . What is the best way to meet new people without going to a bar?

You can meet some real nice people online. There are some safe sites and some not to safe sites. I have a female friend who has spent a decade dating only military men who she originally met online. Again, it's all about the site you start on. I would probably avoid date sites where guys are trolling for weekend easy chicks, and just find sites where guys within your age group and interests posts on. That way, you can really check out a guy and get to know him before you meet him in real life. PM me if you need some direction and I'll help you any way that I can.

Hi! I have tried some of the online dating sites, but it seems as if anybody can say anything they want about themselves and so it is hard to know who is being truthful. I have had some interesting email conversations with some guys, though. I have yet to meet any of them in person. I have also come across a few of the sites where guys are looking for an "easy chick" and I think I've pretty much learned to avoid those (I hope)! Actually, you have not joined a place to meet new people. I have really met some interesting people here! It is a great place to get to know a person when they have quality posts.
