Killer Motorbikes

Since the price of motorbikes had gone down, too many people use it for transportation even in busy highways, and there are so many accidents involving it.
Just yesterday, a motorbike had a collision with an Asian Utility Vehicle (AUV), that caused traffic. The rider was no longer there, presumably taken to a hospital.
I noticed many motorbikers go on high speed, not thinking of the dangers being it only a two-wheeled vehicle. Some were not using helmets, while others have two or three back riders (passengers); some even toddlers or children which is against the law.

Yes, most of them remove the side mirrors, and no helmets too!

True, there should be strict implementation of the laws and higher fines for violators.

There are laws but some people are so hard-headed, they don't follow it, and law enforcers don't enforce the law!

When I had an off road bike, I always drove responsibly and my motorbike had all accessories working - head lights, signal lights, tail lights, stop light, side mirrors and horns. I also had regular tune-ups to avoid smoke belching. And lastly, I drove at regular speed, not like a daredevil.

Yes that's it, they should have complete protective gear, and the motorbike well-tuned up.

I think riding on motorbikes is the most risky and dangerous of all transportation. The government should do something to cut down the number of motorbikes on the road by building a good bus and rail (mass rapid transit) infrastructure and encourage its citizens to take public transport.

I agree, we need it too here in our country specially in Metro Manila to lessen traffic. I don't like motorbikes too, it is advisable to use only inside subdivisions or in places where there are very few vehicles.

Good thing he was out of danger. I do not like a motorbike for my son, but my husband used it for so long for his job. That was years ago, now he does not ride a motorbike.

The prices were not as high as in the early days because of a glut in the market; one can buy it on an installment basis with low amortization.

It is the best thing to do; defense driving because some drivers can be so arrogant as if they own the road.

Deaths due to motorcycle accidents occur almost every week in our city and the neighboring towns. Sometimes there would be 2 or 3 in a week. You're right, many bike riders go on high speed thinking they have 9 lives. Sad thing is they drag with them other innocent motorists or pedestrians to kingdom come.

I observed that too, they just pass anywhere they want (takeover), do not have signal lights, and do not know traffic rules.
