A Moment of Sheer Panic

Early this morning, I have disposed of my garbage bags into the bin on the main road and went back to make breakfast.
While I was drinking my coffee, I noticed that my heart shaped ring was not on my finger. I checked the kitchen sink, because sometimes I remove it when I work in the kitchen. The ring was not there, nor on the kitchen counter.
I started to panic and searched everywhere, from the bathroom to the cellar.
I feared it had dropped in the garbage bag.
In total panic, I dropped the apron that was hanging in the kitchen and I heard a faint metallic noise on the floor...
What a happiness to see my ring, it was, in the pocket of my apron. I had to drink a second coffee to recover.

@WorDazza I have to think more at the medicinal purposes of whisky, you are right, it helps in many cases, not to mention that it's an antioxidant and boosts blood circulation. I think I will not give up my evening drink, I can skip sugar to diet.

I am so glad that you found it! I can imagine the panic you've felt over it as well. I once thought I'd lost my engagement ring, it was a cheaper made thing (we had very little money at the time) but I feared I had lost it and went into a panic!

@JudyEv I have learned the lesson when my husband has lot his wedding ring. We were at a restaurant (only a few months after our wedding), he went to wash his hands and removed the ring. When he realized it was not on his finger, it was already gone.

Thank God;you got your ring was found.Such things happen. When we are focused doing our work;we forget other things we are wearing. After completing our work we suddenly remember it.If we don't find it where it should be;we think it Is lost.Such things happen with me too.

So glad that you found your ring! It would have been very upsetting had it fallen in the trash!

@moffittjc Yes, the reason of my panic was more about the sentimental value than the real value of the ring. Now I wonder where it is now??? I think I have put it in the box.

@LadyDuck Now you can save your online earnings for something else, since you were able to find your ring! I'm just happy you found it! It's nerve-wracking anytime something of value is lost. Especially if there is sentimental value attached to the object.

why not secure your ring with a safety pin in your clothes if you remove it?

@ridingbet I do not like to wear the rings when washing before I fear that they slip into the sink and from there in the drain.
