Who needs an expensive gym membership to get the body that you want?  All you basically need are calisthenics which are based on bodyweight training, pairs of dumbells and a typical training bench.  I have trained in the privacy of my home for the past couple of years and reaping the benefits. Many more people are investing in homegyms because of the convenience it offers. I am not saying don't join a commercial gym- there are many of us out there who simply cannot afford the fees.  Home training offers an effective way to torch fat and build lean muscle and if you are passionate enough about it like I am, you won't mind adding more components to your home set eg. a long bar, extra weightplates, kettlebells and maybe a second hand cardio orientated machine. Of course it is optional since weight training alone provides the ultimate tool for speeding up metabolism thereby assisting fatloss. Ever heard of muscle eating fat? It is true. The more muscle you generally will build, the faster you will burn fat. If you still think you are restricted to the exercises you will get in a gym, think again. Your own bodyweight will be enough to start off with and as you progress, you may want to invest in some free weights you can use at home anytime. Some calisthenics include chair or bench dips which is a tricep builder, crunch variations for abdominals, Planks which is in my opinion is a compound movement recruiting more than one musclegroup, push ups which is a chest builder also a compound move, Jumping jacks and jumping squats which is an explosive conditioning exercise and cardio vascular exercises, calve raises on a block or platform for building calve muscles, pull ups from a bar which is a back exercise, also a compound because your triceps, forearms, biceps and shoulders all work together, etc. With a little imagination you can remix your own moves to get the most out of your workouts.   That's it from me. In my next blog I will publish more on home fitness and strength training.
