Well, I read long discussions. But if I feel sleepy, I admit that sometimes I skip on reading long posts/discussions for I could not easily comprehend the topics being discussed or the main thought of it . Unlike on short discussions which are very easy to understand. So, I'm really sorry if I skip to read some of long discussions here especially if I feel sleepy. How about you?

I tend to be a speed reader when reading anything. This is especially true when reading anything that is long like an inservice for work. I will read long discussions if it is something that holds my interest. When it doesn't catch my interest right away, I will leave it and go back at a later time to read it.

@Macarrosel if someone puts effort into a long post I find it important to read it fully. Not being able to give it my full attention, I go back when I can.

I've written some long posts and they do get less traffic. I try to stick to medium length posts-writing and reading.

Yeah, I had written a long post too but, yes few commented on it. That's why I really tried my best to make a short one.

I do read lengthy topics at times. But for the times that I am doing 2 things at a time, it becomes harder for me to comprehend since I have to focus on my job while trying to understand what was posted. Overall, I think if you have enough time, it is only right to give every post here a read since you never know what information you could get or share.

If it is very interesting and funny! While Bubblews was still online . . . I read one quite long article with the simple title (written by a Cambodian bubbler) - HOW TO PARK THE BIKE. What was so funny was how he related his way of parking his bike in broken English.

my favorite discussions to respond on are the ones with short lines of sentences including one-liner.

Yes I do read long discussion , but sometime I can't understand the content has connection with the topic, out of point and cannot make respond and I just skip. Trying to repeat the things in different lines. Discussion must straight to the point , easy simple for other to understand, what you want to discuss.

Very well said again my friend and I agree. Discussion must be short, simple and straight to the point.

It depends on the particular topic. If I am interested enough, I will read the whole thing. If it's too long, I skim it.

My attention span is too short to read long posts! It also helps if it's broken up into short paragraphs.

Seeing as the average attention span of an internet reader is less than that of a goldfish (9 sec) It has to be a really interesting topic for me to read till the end of the discussion. Another discouragement is if the words are bunch together with no spacing or breaks in the writing format.

I do read them. I think it is only polite since I tend to write them...

If I like what the post says I read it all of it as I myself dislike it when people respond and have not even read my post at all just the title and some comments. so i do read it all as I'm retired not going anywhere so I have time.

Unless the post is well written and has very interesting story to tell, I'd skip long posts and besides my time is limited so can't really waste time reading long ones. I would rather pick short but substantial ones.

There are several people here who usually write long discussions, and I enjoy them because they are interesting. I may bookmark them to read them later if I haven't much time. But if I'm not gripped by the first paragraph I probably won't carry on.

I like to read 'em and I like to write 'em. The "discussions" I really dislike are the ones that go on about stuff such as, "I got up out of bed. Then I had some coffee. Then I took the kiddies to school. Then I went shopping. Then I went back home. Then I got a divorce, had a session in the potty room, and went to bed. Happy posting everyone. Oh yes, before I forget to tell you, I have earned 17 cents more today by posting stuff. Ain't that wonderful?" Sure are plenty of that kind to choose from, right?

I concur. I agree you do loose interest reading a long discussion.
