Muhammad Ali, 74 yrs old, is now on life support, surrounded by family members. Doctors are doing everything possible to keep him breathing. He has done well since diagnosed with Parkinson's back in the 80s. Right now, it looks like the end could be hours away barring a miracle. A moment of thought and prayer for Da Man would be in order at this time.

This is sad news. His flamboyant style was what got me interested in watching boxing bouts. I sometimes cringe at his present appearance when compared to his former active self. Aging can be merciless. Our prayers and thoughts go with him.

He definitely was not lacking in self-confidence and flamboyance and had the talent to 'back it up'. He will be remembered as an all-time legend of Sports and Boxing in particular. Now, let's see what God has to say about all that...

@Wordly1 _Love ones have their reasons but I'm personally not in favor of using extraordinary procedures to prolong further suffering in hopeless cases. Some measure of dignity should be afforded the dying.

@josie_ Not sure if it's come to that point. But, even if they wanted to go the way you suggest, they couldn't legally do that unless it is specified in a 'living will'. As far as the suffering, they have ways to deal with that such as morphine and God knows what else. Dying has a dignity of its own if handled in the right way.
