The World And Its Problems

It’s true that people in the world have almost always had problems, ever since human history began thousands of years ago. I did use the word “almost” always, because there was a time, in the very beginning of humankind, according to the Bible, that humans lived at peace, with God and with the animals on this earth. Not everyone believes what the Bible says about what happened in the Garden of Eden. Many people think that what the Bible says about Adam and Eve is just a story, a myth, perhaps. But, Christians should certainly believe it, because Jesus himself confirmed it. So, to deny that it really happened would mean that a person doesn’t believe what Jesus said at Matthew 19:4. Have you ever read that scripture and understood what Jesus was saying? He said: “Did you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female…” So Jesus confirmed that God had created a man and a woman “in the beginning.” Adam, as a REAL person, is mentioned several times in the Bible by more than one writer of the scriptures. So, the problems on the earth today, BEGAN with Adam. Romans 5:12 says: “That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.” The Bible confirms that all humans descended from Adam and Eve and we all inherited sin from them. Who caused Adam and Eve to sin? The Bible explains that also. Genesis 3:1-24 This story is not a myth either. It’s when and where all the problems we see in the world today began. Revelation 12:9 identifies the “original serpent” who spoke to Eve in the Garden of Eden, “the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth.” Satan controls the governments of the world. Think about that! How could Satan offer Jesus all the kingdoms of the world, if he did not control them? Jesus never questioned that Satan controlled the earth. Satan is called “the god of this world,” at 2 Corinthians 4:4 and it says that he “has blinded the minds” of people on the earth, so that “the glorious good news of Christ”…should not shine through. Satan is causing all the problems on the earth, but not for much longer. Satan lied to Eve and brought the penalty of sin, which is death, to all mankind. The Almighty God gave Satan a short time to work his evil but also gave humans the opportunity to prove themselves loyal. Soon, God’s Kingdom will rule over the earth, the kingdom that Christians pray for in the Lord’s Prayer. “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done –where? on earth as it is in heaven.” Keep praying for it. Jesus would not have told us to pray for God's Kingdom to come, if it were not going to happen. Jesus said: "My kingdom is no part of this world...my kingdom is not from this source." His heavenly kingdom will rule over the earth and then there will be peace on earth. Revelation 21:1-5
