Yesterday marked the 45th anniversary of my high school graduation. Remember those wonderful pictures of you that are tucked away in your yearbook? When you look at them, do you cringe to see how young you were at the time, or do you laugh at the hair styles everybody wore back then and the clothes that were all the fashion. I don't know where MY year book is at the moment, but my sister gave me my portion of the pictures from my parents and one of the things she gave me was my late brother's yearbook. I was a senior that year. I was so not happy with the hair style for this picture. My mom did my hair back then and she decided to give me a style I never wore before or after this picture was taken. It's not the greatest photo, but it's definitely a yearbook photo. Isn't it great? Do you still have your yearbook? Have you looked at it lately? Or is it tucked away in the corner of your house somewhere untouched since you brought it home with everybody's good wishes for your future in it. When was the last time you looked at what anyone wrote. I'd look at those, but it isn't my yearbook. I'm sure I'll run into it as I get the packing done for the house. Thanks for reading.

I haven't been able to find my yearbook but I do remember my hairstyle and the clothes I used to wear. When you look back it seems strange to see them.

It's comical to see the hairstyles that were all the rage back then along with the dress fashions, it was quite a time in fashion history.

@just4him It is comical to see the hairstyles and dresses back then. Funny how some of those come back in style after so many years.

@Marcyaz We're starting to see some of those retro styles now. My sister-in-law was wearing a dress that was a throwback to the 70's era.

My yearbook has been swallowed up somewhere. I do remember that I wore my hair the same way I do now—straight, long, and parted in the middle. Some time between then and now, a whole lot of gray has crept in, though. Oh... they had us take our glasses off. So I look, well, blind in my picture. ARGH. Maybe the yearbook had a little help disappearing.

@just4him I had bangs and a madras headband. I had to borrow my girlfriend's shirt, since hers was much whiter than my old one. Plus, I had my old nose! Try and top that! Lol!

@DianneN Now if I were an artist I would try to draw your description. Instead, I will enjoy what my eye sees with your description, though you said you had an old nose, what was wrong with it. I need to complete this painting.

Thanks, but that hairstyle was a once in a lifetime style. Never wore it before or since. I don't and never could wear bangs. My mother went to a lot of work to get those bangs. My hair never laid down, so bangs were out of the question. I still don't wear them, no, those are not bangs in my profile picture. The hairstyles and fashions back then are hilarious to look at now. There's no mistaking the 70's look.

I think we did not have a yearbook at that time when I graduated high school. I remember though that I had a Farrah Faucet hairstyle on my graduation ceremony.

I agree, it is fun looking back on these and laughing at the hairstyles we wore! We don't have year books here.My photos from those days are mostly swimming photos, hair safely tucked under a bathing cap!

That's probably where a lot of those styles need to be, under a bathing cap. They are funny to look at. Mine is a good example of that.

It was 42 years ago yesterday that I graduated high school and my yearbook is tucked in a box somewhere and reading this brought back memories of that era such as mini skirts (which I wasn't allow to wear) but that fad did finally allow when I was in the 9th grade girls to be able to wear pants to school instead of always skirts or dresses.

I was a senior when they finally allowed us to wear pant suits. I don't think we could wear jeans yet. I remember they used the ruler on us in junior high - now middle school - to make certain our skirts were regulation length and no shorter. If they were shorter they were sent home to change.

It can do that, especially looking at the hair and fashion styles of that time.
