Disconnected for a Day

I feel so good. Yesterday I refused to answer any phonecalls and messages on my phone. I ignored every single one asking me to hangout or go drinking. I just stayed home and watch movies.
And today I feel very well rested and detoxified from all the dramas and unnecessary spending. Have you guys ever tried this? Like an alone time to just detach from everyone?

It's good you gave yourself a break. It's like being on a personal retreat to meditate

@sunrisefan Very refreshed. I'm planning to do it once a week but I don't want to be labeled antisocial so I might just do it once a month.

@flapiz I'm sure you came out refreshed :) You should do it then once in a while.

I've done that quite a bit. Sometimes I need the time to myself just to unwind and sort of feel the quiet rather than all the noise. It's a great respite. I'm so glad to know that you've learned that little secret that not everyone knows about!

@ridingbet Yes, yes. It's an expensive world and getting freebie is not really ideal here.

@missjessicadawn I miss reading books. I don't seem to have the time and patience for it anymore.

@flapiz Not often. I enjoy sitting at home and playing games and reading books. :-)

I wish I could do that! My sister-in-law often does that while camping with her son. She takes her to the country side in order to show him farms, cliffs, etc. The organiser ensures that none of them take mobiles with them so that they truly get involved in the trip and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Of course you can. Why not? Just the mere turning off of your phone for a day will do. Or if you can't turn it off putting it in silent mode.

Yes, I do disconnect regularly.
No phones. No emails. No social media. Nothing.
Just lots of me time for myself!

Sometimes it is good to have a quiet day without phones or other devices. Glad your feeling better after a day of rest. =)

It's a shame I only found out about this recently. I'll do it more often.

True. I didn't realise that I have become so reliant to technology, specially my phone until I did that disconnect.
