So Mr. Republican Establishment, How Do You Like Your Crow?

It seems like it was just a week ago that the Republican establishment had come to the reluctant conclusion that they needed to back Mr. Trump, despite his bizarre rhetoric and policy void.
This week they are all eating crow and trying not to choke on it. In one of the most drastic political spins I have ever witnessed, establishment Republicans are having to condemn Trump's disgustingly racist remarks about the judge in the civil trial against the T.U. scam, and the implied belief - at least on Trump's part - that a person's race can render one incompetent to perform one's job.
It is an interesting juggling act for the Republican establishment, having to condemn Trump's racist remarks while still making a case for supporting him for President. When the only good thing they can say about Trump is that no matter how awful of a candidate he is, and no matter how terrible of a President he may turn out to be, The Donald is still better than Hillary Clinton, doesn't tend to give voters a warm fuzzy feeling.
Should the Republican establishment continue to stand behind Donald Trump's candidacy, or should they denounce him, let Hillary get the White House, while putting all their efforts into holding onto the House and Senate, and hope to find a decent candidate to run in 2020?

They have denounced Trump so they have done what was expected. But they should continue to support him and try to reign him in because it's him or Clinton. Let me put it to you this way: I think Trump is all mouth while Clinton will be all action and you know what that means.
I understand Trump's displeasure with the judge but he is making a very poor political move with his choice of words. You can express your displeasure and condemn all you want by chosen effective words without saying something that will inflame race card.
Okay, this is why Trump said what he did and mind you he could have made a strong statement without bringing up the judge's ethnicity or at least been more delicate about it.
This judge is an acknowledged liberal who was appointed by Obama. Anyone should understand why the Republican presidential nominee in the midst of an election can expect bias from this judge. I think it is a given this judge would be biased. Let's face it, Supreme Court judges make no secret of bias. The judge should recuse himself on political beliefs and not perpetuate a charade he is unbiased.
Why is Trump inflamed over the judge's Mexican heritage? The judge belongs to a Latino legal group called La Raza (a different La Raza from the well known group that began in the 60s) which openly advocates open borders, welcomes all illegal immigrants etc. Do you think a judge belonging to such a group can be unbiased against a man who believes differently?
Anyway that is the basis for Trump's tirade. He should have expressed himself more eloquently on the situation and even turned it to his advantage.

I don't question whether the judge may be biased. Even if he were to try to be unbiased, as a human being with his beliefs it would be nearly impossible.
But Trump's inability to articulate his displeasure in anything but a blatantly racist way should give all who support him pause. Imagine if you will a President Trump during a press conference about a situation with China over the artificial islands in the South China Sea and he says something equally ignorant and disparaging about people of Chinese or Asian ethnicity. I can easily see that happening. Trump will not be able to stop himself. His bigotry is too much a part of who he is. He's the proverbial leopard who cannot change his spots as he has proven time and time again.
But I do agree the Republican Establishment has painted itself into a corner. No matter what Trump does or says, short of committing a capital felony on camera, they have to stand behind him, even if they have to do it with a barf bag at hand.

@DWDavis Every human being has some sort of bias. It's human nature.
I don't think he is so much a bigot as he says stupid things. Or a dumb bigot making mistakes. We know there are many "closeted" bigots in the public eye skilled at keeping it to themselves and it starts at the top. What is so frustrating about Trump is that he can get on a positive roll then kill it by saying something needless.
I understand your concern over Trump. But I am more terrified of what 8 years of a Clinton administration will do which would be a double down of Obama and then some. Then there is some virtue to a loud mouth brawler who will attack back and defend compared to our current throws a baseball like a girl wimpy apologist president.

@JohnRoberts I think no matter what if Trump or Clinton get elected. They will be a one term President. With a good chance of Trump being impeached. lol

Why don't they just back Gary Johnson who was or is a Republican. A Rand Paul type of Republican, but a Republican nonetheless. A lot better than siding with a Psychopath.

I honestly do not even understand why there are people who like Trump. Maybe they think the same way he does. I am a Democrat and I do not necessarily like or trust politics or politicians but I do think that it is important to exercise my right to vote. My mom helped me to understand the importance of voting. It is crazy that Trump has remained a viable candidate with the venom that spews from his mouth and ironic that the Republican party must support him while not condoning everything about him. It just shows how insane politics truly are. I prefer Hilary and having a woman president but I honestly still like Bernie the best. What a mess. I just hope and pray that our country will survive whatever the outcome.

I'm convinced that a large number of Trump supporters are backing him because he's such a contrast to the usual politician and they've never paid the slightest bit of attention to what he says or how he conducts business. If they really knew what kind of a scuzzy business man he really is, they'd never vote for him.

I think all Clinton has to do to win is let Trump keep talking. Every time he speaks for more than a few minutes he says something outlandish, insulting, or ignorant.
I do agree that our nation is in trouble no matter which one of the two gets elected.

Is it too late to endorse anyone else at this point? I really should know my history better than I do, and I think the answer to my question is yes. However, if that is the case, is it possible to still vote for any that have already dropped out?
