I am not writing this with any biased mind. I want to let people know in how many ways and style an Indian 4 -5 meters Indian white lungi has got more advantages in wearing over the other dresses. Lungi is the traditional dress of Tamilnadu state in India. The Lungi will be available in white or other colors. It is treated with honor and respect and people wear it both as formal and informal wear. The apoplication of starch to a white lungi and wearing white shirt of cotton / silk gives a different look to the wearer. You should not be surprised when it is worn even for swearing in ceremonies by the Ministers and gives an awesome look. The advantages of wearing a Lungi It is cheap and very simple and can be worn for any occasion and for any season. Highly interchangeable; Both men and women can wear it. Provides free movement and circulation. Does not require any additional expenditure over stitching or tailoring. Does not require any buttons or Zips. Very convenient during nature call. Just lift it up and finish your work. It can be used even for 2 days without washing. Saves time on your dressing. If a fold get dirty, just lower it by another fold. While crossing rivers and streams just lift it up and wade through. If you happened to forget to take a towel to the beach no worry just use your Lungi as a towel and wash it after the job is over. If you forgot to keep your shawl you can cover your body with the Lungi readily available. It can be worn in different styles. A Gent can cover his chest wrapping it around over his shoulder. A lady can tie it around her chest without any inconvenience. A lady can make it a skirt wearing it above her knees for a fashion. She can make a loose pyjama tying it around her waist as Dhoti. She can make a knee-length short out of it taking the folds of the Dhoti to a little bit up. similarly, it can be worn as short-short or bump-short at the beach. She can make a long skirt or a mini skirt out of it by pulling it up and tying around her thighs as per her wish. Gents can make a short, knee-length short, Dhoti, Pyjama, out of Lungi and can wear it as per their convenience and wish.

MY dad uses lungis. Not this generation of people. We prefer shorts or track pants. Its an art, if not done properly can lead to problems of embarrassment.
